I just had the same problem as well - mine happened during a windows update, related? Also, for me the monitor doesn't come one even after disconnecting from computer, nothing, just blinking green light.

SOURCE: Dell LCD monitor suddenly loses power

Hello,

Five years is a long time for an LCD panel. You definetly got your money's worth.

But, if your trouble shooing has led you to this conclusion I can also only conclude that the power driver inside your panel just gave up the ghost.

However, try giving Dell a call, for what's thats worth and see what they have to say.

You might also want to ask this expert "Robotek" what he may think as he is a board troubleshooter and could give you an answer if one is there.

Type this or copy and paste into your browser's address bar:

And then click on the Ask Me button under his picture.

SOURCE: NO POWER ON INDICATOR LIGHT AND NO Screen Raster on Monitor

Hi,

Initially, pls check D854 on the Power Supply/Logic board. It is a dual diode. If you would prefer board replacement rather than component level repair, this might be of help. This of course would require a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

This is of course in addition to checking the usual, power cord, fuse, outlet etc.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

I have a Dell E173FP 17 inch Flat Panel LCD Monitor. About two weeks ago after having turned it off at night (leaving the PC on) then turning the monitor back on in the morning it would light up to half of...

The monitor can be repaired - by replacing one or both the fluorescent tube and inverter. You can have the work done for you - or you can attempt it yourself. Lamp prices vary based on size - but most hover in the $10 range. Inverters can vary in price too - but run more than lamps for the most part. There are numerous suppliers for these parts such as this and instructions about how to do it such as this.

I hope this helps! Please rate my reply - thanks!

My DELL monitor is not working I got a second

More likely to have problem in the inverter circuits, check for short between Emitter and Collector pin of the four transistors as shown in the pictures.

It sounds like you are not getting any power. I would try another power cord to see if it makes a difference.
