Playstation 2 games will not play

When turn game on, the words "There is no Data" is on the tv screen and the game will not play.

Try to clean the laser with alchohol with a cotton ball real gently, but don't use to much alcohol.

I had a problem like this before so i opened it voiding my ps2 then opening the drive and cleaning the laser lightly with my shirt then it started to work i had this problem with gran turismo 4

SOURCE: wont play playstation 2 games

This can occur if the Playstation has been knocked or dropped. On the slim version if you remove the screws underneath and remove the top cover you may find the the small drive shaft has been dislodged from the motor. Push it back into place refit cover and screws. This fixed my PS2 with this fault.

I was playing my playstation last night but now when i put a game in it will sound as if its reading it but wont let me play it
When you turn your ps3 on and are at the home screen, hold the power button in front of the disc tray and it will bring up a menu on the TV. Choose to reformat the HDD, this will take several hours and make erase saved game data, therefore you may want to create a backup of your data through the settings menu.

This should fix the problem. If not you should contact the technical support.

My tv flashes a black screen every few minutes when watching movies, playing games or just on the menu screen.

SAFE MODE

1) Place you finger on the on/off sensor keep it their until your console turn off. Remove your finger.

2) Place you finger back on the on/off sensor keep it their until you hear 2 consecutive beeps then take your finger off.

3) Choose the last option PS3 SYSTEM RESTORE.

NOTE: A system restore will delete all saved game data. It is recommend backing up your console if possible.

Memory Card Corrupted
you cannot save another file until you delete previous one.Corruption occurs if the memory card is removed from console or if you reset the game while saving or loading game remember this also happens when you are saving or loading game and electricity turns off.

Playstation 2 will load the game, but then only show black screen
You might of had one of the wires connected from the TV to the PS2 damaged and may need new ones or just make sure that the wires connecting each other from the TV to the PS2 are well connected. My little brother use to drop my PS2 a lot too and that happened to me once, but it turned out to only be that the wire got pulled too much when it fell and it disconnected from the TV to the PS2 and I had to only put it in well.

You need to mount a modification chip,If u r using payrated DVD's.But if the error is on all the DVD's including origional,Then your PS2 console's lense need service. Good luck
