Maybe it was a one time only thing. If it continues again then just take the game back to them and get another one. If your wii is softmodded, check online what Cios you need to run the game.

Skip the Game intro by pressing the enter key.Then move your mouse to the toppest position .Then press the down arrow.You will hear a sound.Press again and press enter[now you entered options menu]Press enter[now in settings]Press left arrow key to decrease resolution[4times]press enter .Press again to confirm.hope you problem is gone .I had the same problem and I used this way to solve that.

My ps3 has the same exact problem. The sony intro screen loads but the menu will not come up. I have never played ps3 online, only use it for games and movies. Anyone know what's wrong?

make sure your other games are playing fine. If your other games are playing fine then make sure the disc for call of duty WAW is clean with no smudges or dirt on the bottom and top of the disc.

If you still have problems then the disc for call of duty is bad and you would need to get another one.

If your other games are having probblems then take a can of air and gently blow it into the drive to make sure there are no specs of dust or dirt on the laser.

If you still have problems then the drive would need to be replaced.

The best solution would be to call microsoft at 1-800-4MYXBOX (I think that's the number, but you might want to check at xbox.com) and tell them your problem. I'm thinking it's the Left 4 Dead disc because from your question it runs world at war just fine. Try using a friend's L4D disc or rent it. And see if the problem occurs. It may be the disc..I used to have this same problem but it was because of the disc....sometimes it is the scanner inside the xbox but since all other games work it may be just your game disc

I bought my white mac book exactly a year ago... so its still pretty new I guess.... heres what you do
1. install "age of empires 2 1.0.6 update" from this link:

2. right when starting the game, hold the command or the apple button and a option screen pops up.  It will now allow you to select "force 256 colors" due to new update.  Check that box and press play.  some forums say you also need to select "don't play intro movies" or select don't change resolution or something like that but I did not have to do that.  So I can also watch intro movies... yay.   All I did was select "force 256 colors".  Hope that helps.  It took me an hour searching online to find the solution.
That should fix the problem.
Some forums say that I have to  change resolution 640 x 480 as well but I did not have to say that either.

It sounds like the lens is either dirty or no good. If it is only dirty, you can get a DVD laser lens cleaner from a place like Best buy or Radio shack.
