Question about Little Tikes Cozy Coupe
The lock washer things, you need to get a small flathead screwdriver. Put the tip under the lock washer and tap the screwdriver. It should come up a little, rotate the screw driver under the lock washer and keep tapping it till it comes up. Keep rotating the screwdriver and keep tapping.
Worked for me. Good luck

I tried jannchrissat's solution with no luck. The plastic did not provide the leverage I needed. I was able to remove my front wheels with a vice grip and a flathead screwdriver. Use the vice grip to get a good grip on the lock washer. Then take your screwdriver and put it in the small gap in the mouth of the clamped vice grip and get it under the lock washer. Pry the washer up using the vice grip as the pivot point. This worked great and was the only way I could get it off. The first lock washer took me about 30 mins and looked destroyed when it finally came off. I kept rotating the washer to get a good grip and would pry up a little then rotate a little more and pry again. The second one popped right off (I guess it wasn't fastened as tight).
Hope this helps!

I had to removed a stud due to not reading the instructions properly. I used a claw hammer. Once the plastic cover was broken off the remaining metal stud could be forced off with the claw hammer using the wheel as leverage. The stud though was totally destroyed. Luckily we had a spare for fit up again.

I have the exact same problem! How do you remove the little metal rings at the top of the front wheel rods and where can you get replacements? I'm about to give up and take a dremel to it.
I ended up taking a flat-head screw driver and very carefully prying up the cap heads. Just put the screw driver on one side of the post and press up a bit - then go to the opposite side and repeat. It can help to wiggle the wheel as you are applying pressure to get the cap to slide up the post.
The plastic popped off, but the metal didn't bend. I took the tool that came with the assembly kit and re-applied the cap heads after putting the wheels in the right place, and the plastic caps once again covered the metal rings. If you do ruin the old cap heads when removing them, you should be able to call Little Tikes to have them send you replacements. Good luck!
