I've got a Canon MV830 mini dv camera and don;t use it very often but have lost the instruction manual. There is red flashing icon - it looks a bit like a little flat dish and it has a red line going through it - on the screen. It is on the right hand side under the timings and the battery icons. I have no idea what this is or what it means. I am do to film a friends wedding in a couple of weeks and I just want to make sure that this icon has nothing to do with anything important! Many thanks in advance.
This is the icon to warn you to replace the back up battery which is housed behind the main battery unit. See page 15 of the manual.

Might it be the "no tape inserted" icon? I just checked my Canon MiniDV camcorder & with no tape there is a red icon in the top-right-hand side of a rectangle with a slash through it.
