Question about Frigidaire FSC23F7D Side by Side Refrigerator
THE ICE MAKER AND WATER DISPENSER WORKS FINE, BUT WHEN I PUSH THE LEVER TO DISPENSE THE ICE THE LIGHT COMES ON AND IT MAKES A CLICK SOUND AND A SLIGHT HUM BUT NO ICE WILL COME OUT. PLEASE HELP !
Have same or similar problem. MY problem turns out to be that the Auger turns fine, but there is a little metal blade that attaches to the end of the auger and transfers the spin action into this auger "hopper" (for lack of a better term) which actually accepts the ice that has been moved from the back of the ice bucket by the metal auger and then dispenses the ice into the hopper which falls into the glass. the issue is one of crappy design. It turns out that this little blade has a rectangular opening in the middle that the rectangular end of the auger fits into. If this rectangle opening gets stripped (as mine has done, and ALL are likely to do) then the auger spins, the ice is moved forward but none are picked up by the hopper, and none (or very few) fall into the glass.
Everyone should check to see if this is the case. If so you may need to order a new blade, or a new auger, or a new refrigerator.
Good Luck!

Your auger or your auger drive is locked up. To test which, remove the ice bin from the freezer and set it aside. Now, with the door open, hold the light switch in and activate the ice dispenser on the door at the same time. You should see the drive gear rotating on the back panel. If it is not rotating, this is your problem. The auger drive motor and gear box is either frozen (can be thawed out) or locked up and failed (needs replacement). If the drive gear rotates, the problem is in the ice bin itself. Dump all the ice out of there and inspect the auger. Is it frozen? Locked up? Are there any broken pieces which have caused the auger to get out of alignment and become jammed?

Problem is with a side by side frigidaire. It's blowing warm air. I took off cover to icemaker. I then put my screwdriver to one of the gears and turned it clockwise, about 1/2 way. I plugged the fridge back in and it immediately began to blow cold air. It worked great for about a month, and is now blowing only warm air, again. After hearing contradicting solutions from a few people...im puzzled. Will replacing the icemaker solve this problem??? thanks

We finally got it fixed! It took a few visits from a refrigerator repair company, but it had nothing to do with the auger/auger motor. After all the auger always moved freely when turned by hand. We also replaced the auger motor, with the same results, just a hum with no ice.
Finally, it was determined that a circuit board behind the control panel on the front of the freezer went bad. Call a repair guy, this isn't something you can troubleshoot and fix yourself.

I have this issue too. Its in the dispenser bin. The auger in the back moves fine, but its not turning up front and spitting out the cubes. Gonna pull it apart and see what is up.

SOURCE: frigidaire ice dispenser problem
The ice anger will be controlled by a motor system, the hummming could bea result of stuck rotor or the motor system is faulty. the motor might needs replacement.this will explain why the ice is not dispenced.

We have the same problem on our FRS26HF7BW1 side by side and HAVE just replaced the auger motor. Still, no movement of auger motor. When you push the paddle, there is a click and the motor hums, but the auger will not turn. You can reach in and physically turn the auger motor, but it will not turn on it's own.

Mine is a Frigidaire FRS26HF7BB2. Per comment "You should see the drive gear rotating on the back panel. If it is not rotating, this is your problem. " So the drive gear is not rotating for me and I want to relace this augur motor. Anyone have quick steps on replacing the augur motor? It looks like you disconnect the plastic clip power connector, remove 2 screws at the bottom of the augur 'housing' and remove this whole piece. Then begin taking off screws until you get to the auger motor. Does this sound about right?
