GE Side by Side Refrigerator dispenses ice but no water

My 3-year-old GE side by side refrigerator suddenly stopped dispensing water. When I press the water button, the green light won't even come on. Both lights on crushed and cubed ice will come on, and both types of ice dispense, and the ice maker is still making ice, so I know it's getting water that way. I tried running a hair dryer on the flat part of the freezer door behind the dispenser, but nothing happened. I also tried turning the light on that comes on when you press the white lever back for ice. I left it on all night, and still nothing happened. I am not mechanical enough to check water valves and replace solenoids (this may not be correct terminology). If I have good enough directions, I'm willing to try though. I would appreciate any help!!
