I have had this phone for about more then a year and it has worked fine. But now as I turned it on today the external screen was blank and the other screen is a blank white screen. I am powering it on and off and i also replaced the battery. Same thing. Any suggestions? I have alot of important contacts and numbers I need. I can still dial out, is there anyway I can retrieve these numbers even though I am unable to view them?
It is a flex cable issue.i had the same issue, did some research and found some people on ebay selling flex cables not too expensive, here is the link V710 e815 OEM Flex cable
Hope this helps.

My phone just started up w/the problem too. I noticed that about 2 weeks ago, my phone would make a pop sound when opening. So now that my display is dead and knowing that the video cable runs on the inside of the flip joint, I have opened my phone. I found that the video cable was torn half way thru starting from the left side. It seems that the plastic connector inside was damaged from use and provided a sharp edge to hack the video cable. Now the question becomes where to get a new cable? It's easy enuf to swap out, but not easy to locate one.

I have the same thing happening to me. Basically the screen sucks. I've had my phone just over a year so motorola no longer covers this phone under their warantee. What you can do is either contact your provider who may offer you an upgrade at a discounted cost or contact a local phone repair service. I got motorola's # from verizon at 1-800-331-6456 who does not have a repair service in my area. I could take 2 weeks and pay a $75 + dollar fee or just buy a new phone on ebay for less. Since it is only the screen the moto guy said you should be able to download the info to a computer and keep your contacts and photos, etc. Verizon might do this for you also.

My phone has the same problem. The external and internal screens go blank / white. I had my first e815 for a year before it started. I received a replacement phone through Verizon and the same problem occurred in about 2 months. I think the phone gets hot while in use or while in your pocket. The only thing I have found to work is to turn the phone off for a couple of hours and leave it a cool place. The screen will work, but will only last a few minutes before going blank again. I think it is defect in the screen design. I have also had problems charging the phone.
How do I get mycontacts off broke phone
