We had the same problem and it turned out to be a burned out lower heating element. Only the top one was heating and I could never get it over about 150deg or so.

The oven cannot keep a consistent temperature. It is mostly about 100 degrees above the selected temperature. My landlord replaced the stove about a month ago and the problem is worse now than it was...

It sounds to me like the oven thermostat is faulty, as this is what controls the temperature.
If you can , get a thermometer and place it in the oven and check the temp against the seting with the thermometer, if as you say it is 100 degrees above setting , then you need to replace the thermostat.

Oven sometimes doesn't heat up. Sometimes heats up to desired temp, then quits working. Sometimes doesn't even heat up at all. When preheated light comes on, thermometer in oven usually says about 100...

This sounds like a weak igniter, it would have to be a gas oven and the symtoms usually are: takes longer than normal to ignite the burner, may or may not smell gas in the oven, does not maintain set temperature, eventually won't heat at all. On gas ovens, a glo igniter is like a light bulb, the more you cook, the faster it wears out. Bottom line, needs to be replaced. Good luck.

My oven temperature is 100 degrees hotter than it should be

It will be the sensor inside the oven compartment that is causing the problem.
A new sensor should cure the prob, certainley cheaoer than buying a new oven.
Hope my advice helps you.

Self Clean won't start - Amana ACS3350AS Gas Kitchen Range

Our door on this oven is coming apart, so the oven door never truly closes.  When you set the self clean cycle, push the door shut until it locks... at least this has worked for me.  But I think all your problems, which are similar to mine, result from the oven door not truly closing... heat escapes, so the temp is not right and takes forever to heat up.  The heat melts the control panel, causing other problems.  In fact, our door is starting to fall open... a bit dangerous.
Good luck!

Tappan Oven overheats!!

If you have electronic controls, you'll need either the temperature probe (about $60.00) or the clock (about $150.00). You can test the temperature probe from behind the machine. It should read about 1080 ohms at room temperature. if the probe is good, replace the clock.

If you have mechanical oven controls, you need a new thermostat. Is the too high temp consistent? (i.e. runs at 375F +/- 25F?) If so, you can usually adjust the thermostat **** to read closer to the actual temperature.
