Cyberhome dvr1600 problems

When I put a commercially recorded disc in the search comes up "no disc". I can play a disc that I had previously recorded myself, on this player. Have tried this several times and it works every time. Recently I recorded a different disc. After recording it, I tried the commercially recorded disc and it loaded and played. I tried a couple more discs and they all played. A few days later I tried to play the commercial ones again and they wouldn't load and play, same as previously. I again tried my own recording and it worked. I tried to record another disc and had trouble with the formatting. Wouldn't format 2 discs but did do the third. HELP!!!!!!

I can rebuild your power supply if it is not in aches. A Compute power supply works with these unit if you know how to modify it.

CYBERHOME DVD RECORDER DVR1600

I cannot say this with authority, since I own a 1200 model, but from what I've read of that model researching my own it's most likely the power supply. It is repairable if you or someone you know can solder. Here's what I found:

I did pretty much the same to my 1200, replaced two 2200uF caps with 35V versions. Make sure the rated voltage of the new caps is at least 16V! Higher is better. There's also a firmware update for that model, you might want to look into that too. Of course, you can't use it until this is fixed.

DVR 1600

Start by checking the DVR format compatibility list, see if the dvd format matches. The check DVR settings for playing features that can be adjusted. Try other DVD's that have worked on your DVR previously.

Cyberhome dvr 1600 problem

The power supply needs improvement. The large capacitors need to be replaced with new ones with a 35 o 50 volts rating instead of 10 volts. Also, maybe some diodes and rectifiers in the power supply needs checking. After the improvement the addition of a small fan to keep the power supply cool is reccomended.
Good Luck!

Dvr 1200 will not play

After you have recorded you must "FINALIZE" the disk in order to play it in other DVD players or CPU. Press EDIT scroll down to Finalize Disc then OK

Hi! Pick a jhonson's bud -- dip it into the lens cleaner solution -- rub gently on the lens both clockwise and anticlockwsie -- leave it to dry -- cover up -- run the machine.. but be careful -- don't touch the lens with ur finger and dont try to rub roughly -- lens may go forever. still if the problem remains , replace the lens. chhoton

Recording problem on new blank discs...

Try using Verbatim DVD's, they seem to work the best with Cyberhome recorders.
