My ribbon broke while printing, i replaced the ribbon catridge and now the printer will only go through one "pass" before ejecting the print. It was only printing yellow, then it would say printer error and push out the paper. It now does yellow, then red, then ejects the paper. Any ideas?
Did any of the ribbon come away, or tear when it broke, i have heard of small pieces lodging in the carriage or feeder. Check this very thoroughly as blockages can be very tiny. Check you correctly inserted the ribbon too, and it is the correct type of ribbon for your unit. (sounds silly but sometimes it ccan be that simple) try reinstalling printer, is the ribbon cartridge faulty? check it.

Sometimes my printer will only make 1 or 2 passes and then stalls in that position with paper extended at bottom and will not send print back for the final color pass. It will do this at any time... sometimes when sending one copy or in the middle of a multiple copy job. Print dialog box says processing job and scroll bar is spinning but not advancing.
I have turned it off and on... unplugged and re-plugged usb. Usually have to turn off printer... remove the paper that was being processed... throw it away and start over... wasting unused section of ribbon until it happens again.
