Sand in my Cyber-shot DSC-S500

I broke my second s500 recently, the first now only takes pictures in purple. This one seems more reasonable to fix, being filled with sand. My problem is in disassembling it. I disassembled the other one a put it back together except for the rotating picture mode wheel. Is there a proper way to remove that, or put it back so that I don't ruin this camera. Also, any other solutions to sand in the camera would help. The lens just extends and retracts and the camera shuts off.

Before starting disassembling your camera, try to Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix your problem. In any case it could not make it worse Good luck!

Do i use usb to charge sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S500?

No. The DSC-S500 uses standard AA batteries, either disposable alkalines or rechargeable NiMHs. If you use rechargeables, they must be charged outside the camera using a separate charger.

What is the best battery use in Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S500

The DSC-S500 uses standard AA batteries, either disposable alkalines or rechargeable NiMHs. If you use rechargeables, they must be charged outside the camera using a separate charger.

The choice is up to you. The camera will take more photos on a set of alkalines than on one charge of NiMHs, and alkalines are cheaper. However the NiMHs can be recharged and used again, while alkalines are one-use.

The door of sony cyber-shot DSC-S500 which keeps battery and memory card does not close properly. How can it be fixed

Yes, It can be fixed if your good hands on Exp. However, When the camera hit the floor did it dent the lip/edge surrounding the batter door. If so it may not be fixable, and you may be better of getting a new one, there cheap enough! Let me know the cond. post a picture.

Sony cyber-shot DSC-S500

If you open the camera up, whick I know is an intricate task, and take the screen down but don't unplug it, at the right bottom their is something that resembles a watch battery, if you can figure out how to get it off and find a replacement it will be fixed... This battery serves a a sort of memory power, even though you have batteries, this battery keeps the memory for the camera's software, so inturn without it the camera is dead in the water. this is fixable!
