I have just moved my pc to a new office. When i connected my system back up the keyboard and mouse would not work. I have tried for hours to reintroduce them using the same method initially used when i purchased them but they will not connect. The mouse is fully charged and the batteries in the keyboard are new, the wires are correctly plugged in and i am pulling my hair out.............can you help??

It may be a silly question, but have you connected the reciever back into the same usb port as you took it out from, as if i'ts in a different one you may need to install the drivers again.

i assumed that you use device PS2 (Mouse & Keyboard), this rarely situation, but you haved installed and not more better, because the problem not with your system, but with your hardware, maybe you can change with USB Mouse Device and for Keyboard PS2 is better than USB Keyboard.

Wireless mouse does not work after changing batteries.it always has in the past The Dell computer and mouse is probably 8 years old but has always worked.

Try moving the mouse receivers usb plug in to another port. Unplug any new devices and restart computer. Then replug in any new usb devices.
If still not working.......
Look at Office Depot and other office stores for a replacement wireless mouse. I have seen them as low a $9.99 on up. You might even want to upgrade and get a wireless mouse and keyboard set.

Tom, try connecting a KNOWN GOOD monitor to your PC. If it works fine for 2 hrs and will recover from "time-out" then I would think that the monitor is having a problem with it's backlighting system. Have you had any problem with black screen while doing constant keyboard and mouse movement? Try adjusting time-out settings under "Control Panel" then "Display" then "Power" and select not to turn off monitor. See if that fixes the problem. 12fixlouie

Try using an optical mouse of the latest technology and maybe try a USB key board. Maybe this will make some difference.Try to use the most popular ones for starters...............sodeep

Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud

Have you tried re-installing the software for the keyboard & mouse. It sounds like a driver is missing and the best way to solve it in most cases is to re-install the software from the disk that came with the Keyboard & Mouse. Hope that helps. Bud

Rather the switching them, you need a KVM (Keyboard/Video/Mouse).
This will allow you to connect the 2 computers to 1 keyboard an mouse. These can be found at any office supply chain that has computer hardware (Like Staples or Office Depot) or online.

To connect it, power off both computers, connect the KVM to each, and then plug your Monitor, keyboard and mouse into the KVM. Power on the systems (one at a time).

Acer wireless mouse and keyboard connection problem

Unplug the USB cable associated with the keyboard and mouse while the computer is still on. Plug it back in to a different USB port. This should cause Windows to re-detect them and reinstall the drivers automagically. Let me know if that works.

Keyboard wont respond

Often this is simply because the radio link between the receiver and the mouse/keyboard has been broken. Some possible reasons for this are: flat batteries, insertion of new batteries, connector to the computer removed, etc.
In the first instance, you should restore the Logitech devices to a defined status (reset). To reset the device:
Remove the batteries from the mouse/keyboard for approximately ½ hour.
Press and hold the "Connect" button on the receiver for 15-20 seconds. Make sure that the receiver is connected, the PC is switched on and that there are no batteries in the devices. After resetting, insert new batteries and restore the connection as follows:
  1. Press and hold the "Connect" button on the receiver for 1-2 seconds.
  2. Then immediately press the "Connect" button on the bottom of the mouse (locate this button before you start, all cordless mice have a "Connect" button)
  3. Move the mouse around to check that the connection is working correctly
  4. Press and hold the "Connect" button on the receiver again for 1-2 seconds.
  5. Then immediately press the "Connect" button on the bottom of the keyboard (locate this button before you start, all cordless keyboards have a "Connect" button)
  6. Use the keyboard to check that the connection is working correctly
  7. Both devices should now be working correctly
If one or both of these devices is still not working, try them on another compatible PC system to ensure that the fault does not lie with your PC system.
