HP a1712n How to troubleshoot MOB problem?

HP a1712n with an AMD processor has no video out. How do I troubleshoot a bad mother board. No video from onboard video or PCI express slot. Checked hard drive in another machine it's fine.

My onboard video Out suddenly stopped working.I unplugged the whole unit and reassembled it in another area in the house and when I went to lug the monitor in I get nothing. I noticed a clicking sound now when I plug the monitor to the onboard. I can put pressure towards the left and it will click like something isnt catching or move it to the right and the same thing as if it clicks back to normal. I tried the monitor on a different computer and it works just fine. My p.c. wont except any video cards and It doesnt seem to respond to remote computer because I dont have the actual computer name to link them right. I named my p.c. Hp, and tried to use that for remote but it didnt work, Please help no video= no computer!!

That's a bit involved, but... Be sure to check the manual for bypassing the onboard video card. If the jumper is set, change it and then try... Just a thought.

You can consider 4 factor on no video,it maybe video card or memory card, processor last mother board this if PSU was good, you also check memory card to other computer, somerime need only to clean terminal slot of memory by pencil eraser, eraser slot then put it back, also video card same process in cleaning try also to other computer.Instale good memory card and good video card even with out hard drive,cd room the mother board.if does not run, defective motherboard,

Hardware upgrade required for autocad 2009

Your existing CPU will not work with that motherboard. The AM2+/AM2 processor slot is for AMD processors only. For this motherboard, you will need one of the following processors: Phenom FX / Phenom / Athlon 64 FX / Athlon 64 X2

Laptop not working

You've got it right - it's the dreaded nvidia chip failure. If you do replace the m/board ( not as expensive as some boards ) ensure the AMD processors heatsink fan remains clear to breathe - AMD processors run hot and this heat is what kills the nvidia chip.
Sorry but the only repair because the GPU ( graphics chip ) is built into the m/board is a new m/board.
