Camera drains charged batteries

Hi - I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT/350d. I have had it 4 years, and have the original two Canon batteries (bought about the same time). Now, even though the batteries are charged, I only get about five shots each before they're drained. I recharged them again - same problem. Time for new rechargeable batteries? Or is it a problem with the camera?

I have a similar problem, but I just bought brand-new batteries (2 of them just in case). I fully charge them, take a few pics, and when I turn the camera on again later (next day or so), the battery is completely dead. No clue.

Most likely your batteries are just not holding a charge. However, before you spend good money on new batteries, try charging them on another charger (friend or sympathetic photo shop?). Could be the charger also. Usually it's the batteries, though.

No power - fully charged battery

How about cleaning the battery contacts in the camera first with a pencil eraser and then, with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol.

NO POWER in my digital camera

Could be your power circuit. You may contact Canon direct in Jamesburg, NJ or take it to an AUTHORIZED service center for faster service. I know of one in Flordia 305-653-7355

Rechargable batteries drain as soon as they are put in the camera

Your circuit board has developed a short. There is only one way to fix it, replace the main circuit board. Buy an A530 camera with a cracked LCD online from someone, to fix it.

Canon digital rebel 350D

The first thing to check is that the card door and battery door are firmly closed - press on them while the camera is on to see if it powers up. If not, there's probably a blown fuse - it will have to go to the shop.

No Power To Canon Digital Rebel XT

Change out the CR2016 3V battery. You have to remove the rechargeable battery to get to the CR2016. Refer to the manual for proper instructions.

Had the same issue with a two year old camera. This solved my problem.
