Kitchen Aid side by side model #kscs25inss00 The ice machine stopped working. I checked the solenoid valve for the ice machine and it works, as does the water dispeser in the door. The teeth in the ice tray are almost straight up. When i connect power directly to the motor of the removed ice maker, the moter moves those teeth. What do you think I need to change?

First off is the water filter bad and or do you have one...if not and it is good...then you have pretty much diagnosed the problem correctly...as you said the old Ice maker gears turn and when they make a complete revolution they engage a trigger which signals the water solenoid to dispense water to the ice maker...another test is to fill the ice maker manually and see if it freezes (test the temp of the freezer...if it is not cold enough the ice maker will not work)...if ice is made (generally under 4 hours ) and it is not dumped...you need to replace the Ice maker...around $30 to $50depnding on brand and where you buy it...I shop Marcones Appliance parts the appliance repairman's friend...good quality cheap prices.

Good Luck I hope this helped...please rate me ...the Fang.

Kitchen aid refrigerator ice maker stopped working when i emptied old ice out of the bin and placed it back in the freezer

Could you have inadvertently cut the IM off? Maybe it stopped working earlier and it wasn’t noticed until all ice was emptied out. In any case some testing will have to be done to determine what is bad; the ice maker or the water valve.

Are you sure it is something blocking the ice from falling?
You might want to check this, There is a troubleshoot section for ice problems, try to see if one of that solutions match your situation.

Its the problem of water inlet valve. It's a dual valve. This valve has two tubes in it. One for water dispenser and one for ice maker chamber. The one side of valve is working, but other side of the valve is not working. The valve is got stuck in one position

ICE AND WATER DISPENSER WILL NOT WORK ON KITCHEN AID MODEL # KSCS25FKSS01

if neither one works that usually is the water valve located on the back of the fridge. Try this manually fill the ice make with a glase of water and check the temp. in the freezer. you can reach in and touch to see if water is freezing in ice maker. see if it dumps the ice then surly the valve is bad

Water not working but ice does - kitchen aid superba

When you activate the switch, do you hear the inlet valve buzzing? If you do, check the container or tubing in the fresh food side and make sure it is not frozen. If you do not hear the valve buzzing, chech the valve. If it appears to be ok, then you will need to check the switch inside the door control panel.
Please let me know if I can help further.

Kitchen Aid Ice maker Stopped working

I would suggest not buying a KitchenAid. I have the same problem with my ice maker. Have had nothing but problems with every KitchenAid product that I have ever owned. I will never purchase another KitchenAid product.

All of there appliances are second rate. That is "The KitchenAid Difference"

Ice maker stop working

YES ... MOST PROBLEMS WITH ICE MAKERS THAT SUDDENLY STOP WORKING IS THE WATER SOLENOID STRAINER IS CLOGGED OR THE ORFICE INSIDE IS CLOGGD.(USUALLY LOCATED BEHIND THE FRIG. WHERE THE SMALL WATER LINE CONNECTS). THE STRAINER AND ORFICE IS USUALLY ON THE "INLET" SIDE OF THE VALVE.WITH BUCKET AND RAG NEAR-BY, TRACE THE SMALL WATER LINE AND LOOSEN EACH NUT TO SEE IF YOU HAVE WATER. SOME WATER SUPPLIES USE A SMALL "SADDLE VALVE" FOR TAPPING INTO A WATER LINE. THEY CAN CLOG TOO ... YOU CAN TEST TO SEE IF THE SOLENOID VALVE HAS POWER TO IT ... BY TAKING A METAL BUTTER KNIFE OR NAIL FILE AND HOLDING IT CLOSE TO THE TOP OF THE SOLENOID (coil) YOU SHOULD FEEL THE MAGNETIC PULL IF IT IS ENERGIZED. IF IT IS ENERGIZED AND YOU HAVE WATER ALL THE WAY INTO THE BACK OF THE FRIG ... THE PROBLEM LIES SOMEWHERE ELSE.
