Look in the setup menu for a selection for volume level. There should be a way to setup what volume level the unit comes on at.

Pioneer vsx 52

I am trying to work out which has got the high volume.
If it is the Pioneer then it could be the volume control chip that is faulty. These days volume is no longer determined by a control that adjusts the signal level. The signal is passed to a chip and the volume control setting information is also passed to the same chip. If the chip goes faulty then the volume will sometimes go to max, regardless of the volume control setting. This can also apply to the TV sound as well.
If the sound level is high on other functions of the receiver, such as the radio, then it is certain to be the sound volume control IC.

Volume controll is going nuts.

Hi Manuel

I suppose the problem of your unit is memory, sometimes this problem can be fix by applying service mode, but if not, then memory should be replace and I would advise you to send your unit to service center.

DNX7120 issue with VOL increase button. When this button is pressed once, the volume skyrockets to max, VOL decrease button does not work right away to lower the volume, nor does the ATT button. Unit...

I had the same issue. You can use the on screen volume buttons on screen to stop issue and don't use the physical buttons anymore. Watch out about a month after the volume problem started all physical buttons on my DXN7120 stopped working. There are a few reports of this online, I have not found a fix yet.

Reciever turns off

Powering off usually points to issues with speaker setup. You should read pages 42 and 96 of the 606 manual.

Page 42 covers impedence settings. Check your impedence settings for your speakers. The 606 handles speakers from 4 to 16 ohms. There are two impedence settings on the 606 - 4 ohms and 6 ohms. Set to 4 ohms if your speakers are 4 ohms or more but less than 6 ohms. Set to 6 ohms if your speakers sit between 6 and 16 ohms. Incorrect settings can result in the 606 going into power protection after prolonged use or at higher volume.

Page 96 covers testing for unexpected power protection. You should switch off your AV at source and leave for an hour. Disconnect all cables to speakers and other peripherals (TV, DVD et al). After an hour turn on AV and turn volume to MAX, If the AV remains on, turn down volume to min, switch off AV and reconnect all devices. Make sure the speaker cables are properly connected and that no bare wiring is exposed.

Once you have done this switch on the AV and turn to volume to MAX. If the AV stays on then problem solved. If the AV switches off then you should contact your supplier.

Jensen vm9311 dvd indash volume is loud when i turn on car

Heres the best way to fix; Quote from manual "Programmable Turn-On Volume (Pg.12) This feature allows the user to select a turn-on colume setting regardless of the colume setting prior to turning the unit off. To program a specific volume level, push and hold the VOL/LOC/DV know (6) while the yellow volume bar is displayed on the screen. The unit will beep two times to confirm your turn-on volume setting." Ah i had the same problem. I turned to the manual and it worked for me :) Good Luck, Ern
