Question about Mitsubishi VS-60707 60" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Mitsubishi 60 in vs-60707

This tv is from 2001. Recently it has started the jump the picture. It started at the top of the tv and intermitedly(don't think I spelled that right) does the whole thing. It will also occasionally get lines on the bottom. And just recently also when you first turn it on the colors are off then after it has warmed up it will be back to normal for color, but picture will still bounce. Anyone know what this problem is or if we can try some things at home on our own? Thanks for any help you can give.

Picture is blurry like the tracking is off? what is the fix?

Your TV is out of focus. It is difficult to mention the whole procedure of fixing of blurred picture in VS-60707. It is a very long procedure & requires some instruments for adjustment. To make it easy for you please visit the following link & download 11 files. Although you see the download for VS-45607, the service manual is also for VS-60707. http://www.eserviceinfo.com/download.php?fileid=32177
First three files are archived in .rar format & rest are schematic diagrams in pdf formats. After extracting files from the first three files go to page no. 35 & adjust the focus accordingly

What is the easiest and safest way to move the VS-60707? Does it just lift off the base? If so how?

I`m not so sure about Mitsi`s, But usually the Chassis comes out as one complete unit so that it can be removed for service and taken away back to the workshop. The philips ones, The whole top section (Screen & Mirror) used to come away as one piece and then the whole bottom section could be taken away for service. Have a play but DON`T TOUCH THE MIRROR, it is silvered on it`s face, is EXTREMELY EXPESIVE to replace and is VERY EASY TO DAMAGE with finger prints and cloths etc.

Horizontal lines

Sounds like you need a service call to check your convergence amps. This is not a repair you should attemp on your own. More parts are probably defective than just the amps. Fuse and resistors in the amps circuit.

Mitsubishi VS-60707 60 in. Rear Projection Television

When it gets better after warm up it can be a capacitor in the 160 Volt high voltage circuit or a cold solder joint. these 2 thinks would be my best guess on this set.
