Sounds like the firewire drivers are corrupt try and re-install drivers and if that did'nt help take drive to a friends house that has firewire on his computer and try on his if you get the same it's got to be sent off to be repaired and hopefully you can get files back thats why i take 2 copys one on one hdd and another on another and if one goes down I've got a back-up to fall back

How can i send pictures from windows photo gallery to verbatim?

When you connect the SmartDisk into the USB port of your computer, the computer will detect this as an external storage device. When you open this SmartDisk you can create folders to store your photos. Just select your photos from your computer where the photos are stored then copy and paste these photos into the folders on the SmastDisk.

MY Apple computer all of a sudden is not recognizing my 160GB Firelite. It has power but when plugged in the icon won't appear on the desktop and I can't access the drive? Was working earlier in the day.

Try going to utilities in the applications folder, in utilities select disk utility and see if the drive shows up, if so select repair disk after selecting the SmartDisk. If not showing select your hard drive and run repair permissions and see if it helps. Failing this you need a 3rd party disk repair solution like DiskWarrior. The information is still there!

SMARTDISK FIRELITE 120 GIG WONT LET ME BACK IN I HAVE ALL MUSIC ON IT

Try to get the drive detected on a different computer and if it does the same then try to connect to a mac computer it will be detected then make a backup of the data and reformat the drive. it will be fine, this is a very common issue with flashdrives and external hdd.
try and let me know.

second solution is run a scandisk on this drive letter detected by windows then try doing the same step said above.
