How can I fix water leaking from the egg cooking part of my egg and toaster? I do see that some of the plastic is cracked. Is there a way to get replacements or do I just buy a new one?
So if you need to replace the pans you have to buy the whole toaster again? That seems crazy, not to mention wasteful. If this is the case I will never purchase a product from this company again. So if you need to replace the pans you have to buy the whole toaster again? That seems crazy, not to mention wasteful. It's not the the amount of water.
Get a sauce pan, big enough that all the eggs fit, fill it up with water, to the top, but leave enough space so when you put the eggs in the water doesn't spill. Turn on the stove in high, when you see the water boiling drop the eggs in. For hardboil wait 10 minutes. A bit less, 8 minutes.
On small baord near the poacher, viewing the bottom of board with plug at 6:00, the relay on the left may not be working. It may be getting 24 volts energization, but not operating. Cannot find part on i-net, less than 600 quantity.
To use the egg side only, fill the measuring cup with the correct amounts of water. (One side is for boiled eggs, one is for poached eggs.) Pour the water into the basin at the bottom. For boiled- Place 1-4 eggs in the tray with the four holes. Use the sharp thing at the bottom of the measuring cup to pierce the egg shell. Place the lid over top, and hit the 'egg' button. When the light on the button goes out, remove the lid. For poached, grease the pan. Spray/ butter, whatever. DO NOT rely on the non-stick. The thick black tray for boiling eggs goes on first. With the egg in the greased pan (scrambled or whole) place the pan into the unit. There are four plastic pieces in the boiling tray to show you where it goes, the handles aligned. The round tray, with the square holes in it, can be used to warm pre-cooked meat. This is optional, and that tray goes on top. Place the lid over the top, and press 'egg'.
WARNING: this cooks by steam, and any remainder can cause burns. Be careful when removing the lid. Same goes for the product. The boiled eggs should not be touched directly.
To make an egg sandwich, load the egg side and the bread/english muffin/bagel into the toaster. Press the 'egg/toast' button BEFORE starting the toaster. The toaster will start on a timer so that the egg and toast will be done at the same time. When the toast pops up, you are good to go.
Note: there should be no water afterwards, maybe a little oil if you cooked meat. Hard water residue is easily removed with vineger and a paper towel.
My egg cooker stopped working, so I took the unit apart. To answer your question, I did not see a fuse inside. One way to tell if it is a power problem to the mother board is to observe whether the LEDs light up or not after pressing the switches. If the LEDs don't light, there could be something wrong with either a power component or a power connection.
In my case, the toaster worked fine. Usually these problems are caused by loose connections. Sometimes it is not obvious where the loose connection is. All I did was loosen and re-connect the wires to the egg cooker and also to the board they came from. I also shined up the toast slide button copper connections with a nail file. This was just a precaution, since the toast slide button had to be working (i.e. it still toasted, just didn't cook an egg).
So far, it seems to be working, but time will tell. If the problem was due to something other than a loose connection, it will happen again.
On my fourth one now...love the idea, but the egg poacher keeps burning out. The 800 number is 1-800-688-1989 Calling them now...this last one only lasted 3 weeks.
