My Solis crema sl-70. As soon as I switch the main switch on the indicator ligth for water ready to start the pump is always on but the water is cold
Hi
The first thing you should do is turn on the power, then the steam switch and see if you get any heat. If you do, then your brew thermostat is bad and needs to be replaced. If you still don't get any heat, there are a couple of things that might be wrong. 1. Your heating element might be bad. Check it with an ohms meter. The terminals should read 12 to 16 ohms. If no reading, replace the boiler. If the boiler is good then the center thermostat is bad. Its a 138C thermostat. The thermostat in the back is a 92C brew thermostat. The front one is a steam 127C and the one on the left side is a 156 high limit thermostat. The center thermostat is a screw in thermostat and holds the others in. Take a picture of the wiring before disassembly. To get the top off there is a screw in the top center back. Remove, then put your hands on the top side of the machine and with your fingers push the top forward.
I'll try it. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your advice. I called the 888 number and talked with someone who gave me details on how to take the machine apart and replace the switch (a little complicated) and sent me the new part with a cost of only $9 (compared to the $175 minimum for shipping it from NC to CA for repair that the store had told me about). I'm thrilled. Thanks to Cafe West Distributing in Medford, Oregon for the help.
The light panel flickers and the reset button on the plug keeps popping. I believe there is a short somewhere in the machine.
