No more steam from my Solis SL-70
Hi
You have a thermostat on top of the boiler that is out. There are 4 thermostats in top. The two you want to replace are the one in the center (136C)and the one towards the front(117C). The one in the center is a screw in thermostat and it holds a clamp that holds the others down. There is a fuse also, so make sure that when you put it back together the fuse is under the its clamp. You only have to remove the wires on the center thermostat until you need to remove the wires for the steam. That way you won't get them mixed up.
The top comes off by removing the screw on the top back where the water tank locks in. Once the screw is removed the put both hands on the side of the machine near the top and with your 2 index fingers push the top forward. This will push the top of the face plate forward also. The top of the face plate locks into the bottom of the front part of the top, so when you put it back together slip bottom of the face plate into the machine, then put the top on the face plate so the front of both is flush whit each other. Then push down and back on the top and it will lock in. then put the screw back in and your done. Contact 1-877-855-4540 for parts.
I'll try it. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your advice. I called the 888 number and talked with someone who gave me details on how to take the machine apart and replace the switch (a little complicated) and sent me the new part with a cost of only $9 (compared to the $175 minimum for shipping it from NC to CA for repair that the store had told me about). I'm thrilled. Thanks to Cafe West Distributing in Medford, Oregon for the help.
The light panel flickers and the reset button on the plug keeps popping. I believe there is a short somewhere in the machine.
