The low humming sound is the motor that opens and closes the drawer. It is moving, but the movement is not being transferred to the door by a pulley, a belt or a gear, When you open the drawer completely, it should stop. When the drawer is closed completely it continues to run until the disc is in the proper position to play. As long as that motor is running the DVD will not work because the disc is not in the proper position,

How to open driver door

Do you mean the disc drive tray won't open? Or do you mean you have a front panel cover on your computer that won't open? If the disc drive tray won't open it could just be stuck, if you look closely at your disc drives front panel you'll see a small hole, take a paper clip our some thing about 3 inches long that will fit in the hole insert it into the hole you'll feel it bottom out if you push on the paper clip firmly your disc drive door will open, ( I would do this with the computer turned off) If there's a disc in there take it out if not just push the try back closed don't force it completely closed it will do that itself, now turn on your computer let it completely finish booting and see if it the drive works. If it does not it's probably time for a new disc drive. I hope this helps

Sony dav-dz555k home theatre system-dvd tray keeps opening and closing, wont read disc at all. have to manually push tray closed and change setting from dvd to something else to stop it.

You seem to be having a door sensor problem. When the CD tray closes a small switch under the loading tray shorts telling the microprocessor the door is closed and to stop the motor (either way when it opens or when it closes). A malfunction in this switch causes this symptom.

Wont eject disc an wont read disc? cant play game

well it could be a few things for one if someone tried to push a disc in while there was already one in it then this will bend a metal guild in the drive and keep it from taking a disc of even reading it once it goes in, or you have a dead drive, if this is the case nintendo has an exchange program and you can send it in and get a good init back...

DVD player not reading or playing DVDs or CDs

it can get damaged that way. but try rebooting yoru computer first. sometimes that can clear the problem if it just didnt load up correctly in the system. if that dont work, try rolling back the driver, if still samething then uninstall drivers and reinstall.

CD/DVD drive stuck CLOSED and NO pin hole

Use my computer and select the drive (eg drive E:). From pull down menu "File" select "eject". While the disk door attempts to open (hear slight movement of tray) massage the door with your fingers. This is done by smoothing out the across front door panel with your finger tips and pushing in and releasing pressure from door. Door should slide open partially and close again. Repeat. The eject button nearside the disc tray doesn't seem to work as well as selecting "File" and "Eject" from the menu. Something to do with the door cycle is less with the direct eject button.

Dvd, fix it or pitch it?

no these are legitamate questions, the one that wont eject is probably out of timing someone could have pushed the door closed instead of pushing the button a lot of people dont realize this can harm a player what you would have to do to fix this is open it with the power off then plug it in and let the power close it that will normally fix that problem. the one that reads no disk listen and feel for it to spin the disk when turned on if the disk dont spin it wont work let me know what it does or doesnt do. the x box could be a lot of things but listen for disk to spin in it also and get back with me some might be fixable some might not.due to cost

Xbox does not read discs.

Getting to the dashboard screen is a good thing but still cannot rule out a bad circuit board or power supply. All the symptoms point to a bad DVD drive but the opening/closing by itself do indicate a problem with the microprocessor. Can you turn the power on and off with the small button?? If not, would definitely suspect bad board.
