Will not scan!!!

It keep saying it can not retreive download for me to scan anything. What can i do????

Check your printer to start with scan print from the printer. That means make a copy of something using the printer. If that works then your scanner is work and your have a software problem. Un install and reinstall your software. Drivers and program software all of it. if it prints from computer then your cable is working. Tell me this works and what did work that will help me to understand better your problem.

Downloading application list - cant retreive application

If your pc tels you its downloading application, have a look a your printer drivers, your usb cable connecting your pc to printer and or the data cable inside the scanner might have gone faulty

Trying to scan, says "cannot retreive application

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.



You may also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/dbCiI6. Select your operating system, download and execute the file.

Trying to scan document and it says "cannot retreive application list"

Were you able to scan successfully before? If yes, it could be a slight communication problem. This can easily be fixed by disconnecting your printer from your computer (if usb connected). Unplug and replug your printer into the power outlet to reset it. Reboot your computer. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Doing this usually fixes minor communication issues. Try to scan again.

I can't download anything can't add or remove because pc keep saying errors in instalation or some program has corrupted my pc

Cannot retreive application list

Please try scanning using Paint:

1- Click Start (If you have Windows XP, Click Start and then Click Run)
2- Then type "paint" without the quotes into the search box and press ENTER
3- Click File, and select "From Scanner or Camera"
4- Make any changes you would like and click "Scan"

Cannot retrieve applications listo lexmark 3500

my printer will not scan when i try it tells me downloading applications list then it will not download it tells me cannot retreive applications lists and i have reinstalled the disc and still nothing

It sounds like a fake warning alright. You should have a professional check it out. Malware removal is best done by a pro because often unwanted side-effects show up after removal, such as disabled network access. If you feel confident about fixing it yourself, try downloading the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from http://www.malwarebytes.org/. Perform the Quick Scan. This will take a few minutes. If it finds anything, then follow the prompts to fix it. Reboot if prompted to do so. Then also follow up with Perform Deep Scan afterward to double-check that everything got removed. Deep Scan can take much longer (hours). This should work. I suggest it with the best intentions, but if other problems arise, I disclaim any responsibility.
