MF4150 Printing all Black - pages covrerd in black

My 3-week-old Canon ImageClass MF4150 prints all black pages. I was printing a 16-page document and ran out of paper. I loaded new paper and continued the print job, but when it started back up, every single page it printed was all black. In other words, the entire page was covered with black carbon. After reading the manual, and doing some trouble-shooting, I called Canon support and the analysit walked me through shaking the print cartridge and doing some basic trouble-shooting. Then he recommonded that I simply return the printer to the store where I bought it for an exchange since it is only 3 weeks old. The analyst said it might be the fuser. I turned the printer off for a couple hours, and tested printing another document. It printed fine. It seems okay now. So - is there a problem? What might have caused this? Should I exchange the printer as the analyst suggested? Thanks!

Thank you. Yes. I'll exchange it.

Yes. Exchange it while you can. It will more difficult after the first 30 days. Could be a toner cartridge not seated properly. Or could be a high voltage power supply.

My Canon MF4150 is printing fine but when it prints a page, the content on top get duplicated (faded) below.

If you're getting the image repeated further down the page, but faded, it's most likely a fuser problem. The rollers in the fuser (or the fuser itself) will need to be replaced.

Canon MP-730 It never was a good color printer, the red was not printing, but that is not why I purchased it. But now it the black ink stopped printing altogether, so no incoming faxes, no copies and no...

I can recommend the HP all-in-ones. They are the cheapest per page and are like all HP products - well built and reliable.
I have the L7590 which is duplex printing, photo printing, ADF, Fax, etc.
I don't know of any inkjet all-in-one that is B&W only. If that is what you are after, I would recommend a laser all-in-one like the HP Laserjet 3052 or the Canon imageCLASS MF4150

Printing blank pages

My MF 6530 printer began printing light so we changed the cartridge and the machine began printing blank pages. When the other cartridge was put back in the machine, it too began printing blank pages. We have several of these machines in a couple of offices and have had this problem before. Canon is aware of the issue with this model, but I would like to know it as well. Can you help with what the problem is and the repair instruction? A friend of mine with this machine and the same problem, had called Canon and they had repaired it quite fast in his office. I'd like to do it myself in case it re-occurrs.

No printing on Mac OS 10.5.1

Check under the Apple site for this issue. I use Leopard and can copy and print with this machine. I have not tried the fax, however, I assume  it will work. The scanner does NOT work with Apple...at least yet...I am not sure if it is Apple or Canon or both who are at issue for this. As per the post below, the duplex works just fine for me. You may want to consider the possibility of removing the current drivers and reload the one's currently posted by Canon.
Duplex Printing

I figured out how to make duplex printing on the MF4150 work! Canon Tech support says that duplex printing is not supported, but they are mistaken.
Here is what you need to do:
1. go to the Canon site and download the latest UFRII driver (v1.5) and install it
2. in the application, go to page setup and select "Format For:" MF4100 Series [this was what I did not realize]
3. then, when you go to print, select the finishing tab, and then select 2-sided printing.
If you skip step 2, and you application defaults to "format for any printer," the 2-sided option will be greyed out. Other printer drivers do not require this, but the Canon driver does.
