Sounds like it could a power supply problem inside the printer or a motherboard component failure. It needs to be taken in for servicing. There is no way to tell what the problem is without an internal review.
Theres nothing in the drivers that would cause this unless the software was doing an update to the printers internal software
you could try a hard reset
1. Remove all cables, including: 2. Unplug the printer power. 3. Hold down # and 6 on the keyboard. 4. Plug the power cord back in. .
Turn off the machine using the power button, unplug the power cord from the back of the machine, remove the ink cartridges, wait 2 min, press the power button to turn the machine on, wait until the printer prompts that the ink cartridges are missing, then replace the ink. If this doesn't fix it you may need to re-prime the ink lines using the directions at this web page http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/hp-photosmart-ink-system-failure-1/.
try unplugging power cord and holding #6while your plugginmg in the power cord hold the button down until you see the display lights turning on and release if you are printing wirelessly you will have to do the wireless setup wizard again.
if that doesn't work try plugging it directly to the wall
if all else fails it may be the printer
