Hi, Turn On tv. Press and hold Volume Down button on TV Front and PIP/ SPLIT button on Remote at same time for 6 Seconds to reset Lamp Timer and tv will show you timer reset message screen. Hope this info will help you. Thanks.
According to the lamp manual you just need to power the set on with the remote and then press (and hold) the Vol - button on the front of the set, While holding the Vol- button on the front of the set press and hold the PIP button on the remote. HOLD both for more than 5 seconds or until the lamp timer has been reset to 0 appears on the screen.

You need to have your Panasonic remote. 1. Make sure the power cord is plugged into a properly grounded outlet and turn on the set with the power button on the projection unit or the remote control.
2. While holding down the (VOL -) key on the projection unit press the PIP or SPLIT key at the same time. Hold it for longer than 5 Seconds. The PIP or SPLIT key is model specific:
PIP for Models: PT-50LC13/PT-60LC13/PT-50LCX63/ PT-60LCX63/PT-43LCX64/ PT-50LCX64/PT-60LCX64
SPLIT for Models: PT-43LC14/PT-50LC14/PT-60LC14
3. When the unit resets the lamp timer it will display a screen on the TV indicating it was reset to zero. You press recall on the remote to exit.

Found that the thermistor/temp measuring device is suspect, no resistance across legs. There is a label there that says F701 see service manual
http://www.goodmans.net/get_item_th-tf117c_thermal-fuse-117-degrees-celsius.htm
I went here for a tech manual for the Panasonic tv. http://www.ManualsParadise.com
then ordered
Manufacturer: Panasonic
Part Description: FUSE
Part Number: LSJA0411-1
from PartStore.com
it was mounted to the case that holds the lamp. had to remove the back panel, etc. Also think I had to splice in the fuse or something. was a while ago.
i purchased a NTE8115 from my electronics supplier, closest I could find. Radio shack also has them.
remove the back cover and measure for continuity across the thermal fuse
above the lamp housing.
if open jump it wth a 5 amp fuse, be sure to close the safety switch with
the small blue lever then try to power on.
If comes on ok you will need to replace the entire ballast assembly to get
that fuse.
Panasonic does not have a part number for just the fuse on the PT40LC
series.
It is possible to cut off the fuse and replace with another but dont solder
i'm sory sure why did you change the lamp? mybe the lamp was non put in straight and the door safty switch was not right. need more info. WHAT WAS THE SIMPTOM BEFORE YOU CHANGED THE (HOPEFULLY DLP TV YOU ARE WORKING ON)
HOPE WE CAN HELP DOC
