Question about Sony Computers & Internet

Need Drivers fo PCG-7G1M wireless card...

Hello to everyone
i recently booted my laptop from india but i found out that the network card was not the original part. my laptop is Toshiba Satellite and Cmi id of the card is 2004dj1891 . i searched internet all i am getin is a new care which is Sony vaio PCG-7G1M wireless network card and i cant find the drivers for it so please help me.

You can take the card out (it is under one of the covers on the bottom of the computer) and see what it is. Go to that manufacturers web site to download the drivers, install them, and walla, you are in business again.

Well, this can be solved easily.

Go to device manager, and expand the network adapters to find the device, and then right-click it to choose update driver.

Hello,

Try booting to safe mode and check if it does the same thing.

Here's how you can boot to safe mode with networking.

Restart you computer and tap F8. Use the arrow keys to highlight safe mode and press enter.

If you can boot to safe mode with networking, then update the drivers of your computer by going to the device manger or you can install RadarSync to scan for outdated drivers and update them .

If the sound you are referring to is a clicking sound, then it is a hard drive failure.
Your computer is trying to boot up the operating system from the hard drive, but when it fails to access the hard drive, it tries to boot up from other devices configured on the BIOS. Apparently, your next choice for booting the operating system is set to the LAN card. Hence, you get the message "PXE-E61 Media test failure", which means that the computer tried to boot up the operating system over the network but it found out that your network cable is not connected to your computer's network interface card.

What OS are you running?
Did you recently install a new app?
Did you recently install a new hard drive?

Try and do a system restore boot the computer in safe mode with networking to do this you:

Turn on laptop
While booting up press and hold F8
Until you are brought to a boot up option page with different ways of booting up
Click safe mode with networking
When you do this computer will load and click system restore
Restore computer to a previous date when it was working

You can set the NIC to On (default), Off, or On w/ PXE. When the On w/ PXE setting is active (available only for the future boot process), the computer prompts the user to press <Ctrl><Alt><b>. Pressing this key combination causes a menu to display that allows you to select a method for booting from a network server. If a boot routine is not available from the network server, the computer attempts to boot from the next device in the boot sequence list.

here is the solution.
Buy New good Network Card Like D-Link or other cost about (10$-15$) install it on pci slot.then install drivers.so now u r system with new working Network Card.

Purchase a USB to PCMCIA Convertor Hardware and you will be able to use your old PCMCIA Data Card in your new Laptop.

In India, one comes in the name of ENTER brand. Other brands too available.

Hello,try to clean the memory card edge connector with eraser. Sometimes just reseating the memory card won't help coz the connector itself is coated with varnish like coat. When you only reseat it the original placing will not almost fall at exactly the same place(good contact connection). Cleaning it with eraser will free it of that coat and it will have a wider probability of good contact with the memory connector.

PROBLEM IN REDHAT LINUX

Hello there. You need to install the driver from http://support.intel.com/support/network/sb/cs-012904.htm

As a side note, Redhat AS is not really a great choice for beginners to linux, you may find Ubuntu or another new user orientated Distribution, makes a better attempt at hardware detection.
