Question about Dell Axim X51v Pocket PC

Non-Responsive PDA Completely non-responsive. Nothing happens when I press the power button, the reset button, the screen, or any other button. When I put it in the charger the power button turns orange, but the unit still does not turn on, nor does Active Sync engage. I have had zero problems with the unit leading up to this issue. It came on suddenly.

You may have to do a hard reset. You hold one finger at the power and the other hand hold your stylus and his reset. This technique is applied to most PDA.

To everyone that's having problems with the not booting up or back plate battery cover warning messages on your Dell PDA, I think I've found the answer, I have 2 Dell's PDA's, 1 a X51v & the other a X50v, I was having problems with both of them (1 had battery cover warning messages & the other had a screen freezing) so I stripped the 2 of them down when I had both rear shells together I noticed that the small piece of sponge that Dell fit to the latching mechanism one was on the far right of the latching plate on one & the other was in the middle of the plate, I looked to see which shell belong to which PDA & the one I was having problem with battery cover warning messages the sponge far right, so I swapped the back shells around & booted it up BINGO!!!!! problem solved, I'm fairly sure the SPONGE SHOULD BE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LATCH PLATE, if I'm right Dell engineers & executives should be shoot, such a simple fix why didn't they let owners know about this. This has got to be easier than trying to bridge the switch contacts or rip the switch off the board, give it a go guys, Please let me know if it works on your PDA. I will upload some photo should any of you guys need.

All the buttons are non responsive and the copier flashes 40 U 2. I can't get it to clear or do anything.

U2 error code reset.

Go to simulation mode by pressing # * C * (press these four buttons as soon as possible) the display will go off, then enter 1 6 and press start key. The machine will restart automatically. However if the toner chip is defective, the error will not reset. Replace the toner chip if required.

Completely non-responsive. Nothing happens when I press the power button, the reset button, the screen, or any other button. When I put it in the charger the power button turns orange, but the unit still...

A design flaw; battery latch inside detects that it is not fully closed, ans will not turn on... this happenss after a while, perhaps because the weak battery latch wears. There are a few "fixes" for it, that entail taking the back off, and putting a drop or two of fingernail polish (maybe a small dot of glue from a hot glue gun... this has to be REALLY small dot! if the prob persists, then apply a tiny bit more, maybe as little as the thickness of a human hair would fix it.. but that's most likely your issue. I have had four of these, and have had the problem with two of them. Best of luck! Oh, I just bought a new screen/digitizer on eBay for under $9! with tools, and mailing! I'll be putting my new screen on by next week... since these are so aged, everything for them is cheap!

My Palm tungsten E2 hand held PDA is totally frozen and locked up

Best thing to do here is to remove any memory cards etc.. and do a hard reset - seems like soft reset will or has not worked...

Press and hold the power button - keep it pressed and gently press the reset button on the back of the handheld.
Wait for the Palm Powered logo to appear and release the power button.
You should get a message warning about erasing all data. Press up on your 5-way navigator to reset.

This will erase all data inlcuding user information from the device, but synchronizing should get it all back - but you will loose anything that was not recently sync'd

good luck

Non responsive touch screen on iphone

If a hard reset (press menu and center button together for 5 sec) and software restore doesn't cure it , you have a broken digitizer of your iPhone screen assembly. There is an iphone repair guide website that shows you how to do the replacement yourself and a third party iphone repair company that can do it for you.

Help I killed it???

Contact DELL for instructions, they should be able to help you.

I think they have some kind of resolution for that in the service-agreement you got when you bought the PDA.

It's really difficult to do anything like flashing or update the software on the PDA since its a DELL.
