Strictly speaking this is the correct response from your writer, as the disk "is" blank. Your DVD burning software, Like cloneDVD or Nero, should recognise the "blank" and then allow you to burn your disk image. you need to check that your DVD/CD authoring software is installed correctly and updated for all the latest features.

Note: If you are copying a DVD disc from your DVD Burner to a new DVD disc, Aimersoft DVD Copy for Mac will ask you to insert a blank DVD disc when the program gets ready to burn. Then you can just take the original DVD disc out and insert a blank DVD disc.
But if you have two or multiple DVD Burner, you just need to change object DVD to another DVD burner and insert a blank disc into it , then Aimersoft DVD Copy for Mac will automatically copy DVD movie to the new DVD disc. No need to wait for the conversion to insert a new blank DVD disc.

Step3: Program Settings (optional)
Set Buffer Directory: Specify a directory on your hard drive as the buffer directory to store the temporary files generated during the conversion. We recommend that you select a folder on a hard drive that has relatively big free space.
Select Language: Select an interface language for the program. The currently available languages are English and Simplified Chinese.

Hp 1040e dvd writer plays cd's but not dvd's. Can't record DVD - keeps asking for blank disc when it's already inserted

What brand DVD's are you using? Its best to use the same brand discs as your burner. This is because in the design and testing stage they are using their own brand of discs to test them. Some other brand discs may be thicker or thinner and not read correctly. The "blank" disc may have already have been written on. Make sure the Nero software is loaded on your computer that came with it.

Dvd drive will read/play dvds but will not recognize a cd

go to safemode and try reading CDs in safemode. If your burner still can't read CDs then it's most likely bad. You could get an external usb burner.

it was corrupted, maybe because of the type of disc u are using. If it was a movie maybe you can play it with a DVD player but u can not find any file on a computer.
