I had same problem. just get out your cd pro with the driver and video codec on it that came with camera. just open up the video codec only! nothing else. left click on codec folder. wait for window to come up with "continue anyway" and click once on that. let it download. about 10 sec. then click on driver folder restart and you are done. do not use USB hub or it will cause problems and never load or remove the SD card when power is on camera or pc. download your video files from camera with the USB cord only using MASS STORAGE. or you might lose and corrupt data. if you need to burd to DVD, at highest quality no more than an hour. or use 2 DVD's. use a converter program like CUCUsoft to make your .avi files a mpg2 file, but click on avi-dvd. now you can burn and play in you dvd player on tv. paul

Does the recording show a black image or no video signal? If the image is black, is the cover being left on the lens? Is the lens broken or something perhaps internally obstructing its view. If there isn't a video signal, and it reads as only an audio file than have you checked you've set the camcorder to the correct setting so the video camera portion is turned on?
Aw, this is very rare. Both digital and analog connection no sound? First, make sure with analog connecting cable working, must be the original JVC A/V cable and 2nd, when connecting to PC, use the software provided (CyberLink) for playing and editing videos. Good Luck
Are you playing the video back through the camcorders utility ? Sometimes by clicking on the file through windows explorer you will get the picture but no sound, this happens for the Sony camcorder but is fixed by running the playback through the motion picture browser application supplied with the camcorder.
I have tried to copy movies to the computer but when I try to play them on the computer, there is no sound I transferred the videos I recorded onto my computer but no sound when playing them on the PC. The file is also a video clip file not an audio/video file unlike other files that I transferred from my other camcorder
make sure you download the latest drivers from your device maker. then make sure you have your specific device selected for audio import in your editing screen. I wasn't able to get sound from my sony camcorder under windows movie maker until i selected my camcorder for audio import. Using your computer's sound card for audio import will not work. Hope this helps.
