Restricted calls I was given this phone by a friend and I got a new genie sim card online - I have put the sim card and it has come up o2 uk on the screen - however in the top left hand corner there is a phone handset icon with a red line through it and Ican't make any calls - any one know how to rectify this

I am not sure what kind of sim card are u talking abt...if other sim cards of some other service provider are wrkng fine with ur phone then obviously the prob is with the sim card...else u can reset ur phone...

This seems to be the settings for web, let me know if they work.

1- Set GPRS Account

Goto Home
Goto Entertainment
Goto Services
Goto Data Account
Choose GPRS
Create a new profile on mine I'm currently using a PAYG SIM so have called it PAYG O2 on Profile 8

APN (Contract) wap.o2.co.uk (PAYG) payandgo.o2.uk
Username (Contract) o2wap (PAYG) payandgo
Password password
Auth. Type Normal

2 Edit Browser Profile
Go Back to the Entertainment > Services Menu

Choose WAP
Choose Settings
Choose Edit Profile
Create a new one, I've called it PAYG O2 and choose O2
Choose Edit Profile
Rename if required
Homepage: http://wap.o2.co.uk
Data Account: Select the Account setup in 1 Above
Connection Type: Choose HTTP and set proxy to 193.113.200.195 and port to 8080
Username and password should remain empty

There should not be any difference between contract and PAYG

I put in the puk code in to many time and it is saying now that my sim card is rejcted how do i get it unrejcted?

Sorry my friend, but you will have to purchase a new SIM card. As a security feature, once the PUK is incorrectly entered too many times it "Fries" the SIM. You may be able to talk your provider into giving you one, but the only solution here is a new card. Any information you had on it is gone. SIM cards usually run around $20 to replace.

You will need to try online at www.unlockitnow.com , www.mobile2mobile.net this process takes 12-24hrs to complete.
Or take it to a mobile service center to hvae it unlock there for a small fee.
