According to an Alpine owner's manual, for that type of amp, you should be able to remove power from the amp, then reconnect power to reset the error. If it doesn't reset, either there is another short in the wiring or the amp has permanent damage and needs repair.

I just picked up a 12" type r in a box with a alpine m 350 how do I know what kind of type R I have without taking it out of the box?? and how do i hook it up to this amp??

Not to insult you in any way but u need to know how to wire into car's electrical system at the battery then to a fuse then to the amp and then output the signal from the deck to the amp.. finally to the subwoofer. you need to hook up 12V constant battery power , then remote from the deck ,ground wire from amp to chasis for power.. then wire to sub.

I have an alpine mrd-m1001 getting curr message ho do you reset the amp

Hello deeprajm,

Shorted or low impedance outputs can cause the "CUR" display. Power down everything and remove the speaker wires. If it will then power up without the display, the problem is probably a short in the speaker wire or voice coil, or the impedance load is too low. If there are multiple subs, reconnect them one at a time to isolate the bad one and then correct the problem. If the amp works properly with either of the subs but not both, rewire the subs for a higher final impedance.

If the amp still displays "CUR" with the speakers disconnected, there's most likely an internal fault that requires component level repair.

Hope this helps.

Amp displays the letters curr

have you disconnected all inputs and outputs on amp and retried starting it power only? if so your amp has an internal solder bridge and must be repaired by authorized repair center. Repair it or replace it at wholesale price from www.godspeedaudioheaven.com

I touched two speaker wires together and amp will not respond

That is a very nice amp . Try not to touch (short) those wires together. But yes, the amp has protection and is shutting off to protect it.

Alpine mrd-m501 amp

Disconnect the speaker wires from the amp, then try it again. If the error message doesn't appear, try connecting the speaker wires back to the amp one by one.

The error message is due to some sort of overcurrent in the amp. If the error does not go away when the speaker wires are disconnected, the issue is most likely with the amp itself and will need professional repair.

Negative speaker output touched chasis of amp.

check all fuses on the unit, pull them all.
look for a way of resetting the amp.

LEAVE THE MAIN FUSE OUT TILL THE INSTALL IS COMPLETE!!!

that way you wont short a screw driver across the terminals on to the chasis.

Lights on, nobody home

Appears to be an issue with current. Is the speaker the correct impedance for the amplifier ? Have you confirmed there are no short circuits in the wiring ? I'm not familiar with this particular product,

The alpine catalogue gives recommended amp/speaker combos. If you don't have an aplpine sub, then look at the specs and find a similar one. You may be trying to load the amp too heavily and it will protect itself.

How to wire a stereo system

Connect the 2 gage to the battery thru at least s 50 amp fuse, then connect the capacitor in line before the amps. Then run the 2 gage to a connector/splitter block and run 4 gage leads to each amp. You also will need at least 4 gage ground leads from each amp to a body grounded bolt or screw. You need to run a quality set of speaker leads from the head unit to the amps. The speakers will need separate leads from the amp to each speaker. You will need to try some different combinations to get the sound and bass you want. You want to be able to fade from front to rear and control everything thru the head unit.
Use a hole saw to cut a 2 to 3 inch diameter hole in the side of the speaker box for a port to get a better punch from the sub.
Hope this helps some....

No sound to the in car speakers from my alpine cda-9827 cd player

What kind of car did you install this in? Did it have a factory radio in it? If I had to take a guess I would think that there is a factory amp that you may have hooked the blue wire from the alpine deck to. If this is the case when you switch to CD the alpine deck turns off the power to the power antenna lead(blue wire) and thus your factory amp. If this is the case hook the factory amp turn on to the blue and white wire and you should be good to go.
