You need to log into the bios and edit the hdd password... You can press DEL or F2 key when you power ON the laptop... It will take you to the bios setup... You can navigate in the bios to reach the hard drive password section and you can set the password as blank... Once you are done press F10 to save the changes and exit out of it...
If it doesnt works, then you can give a try by restoring the BIOS to its factory defaults(using the restore defaults option in bios) which should turn OFF the Bios HDD security feature...

Several different types of password encryption methods.
First, remove the watch-type battery for several minutes. This resets the bios and may fix the problem. (Some desktops have reset pins that need to be jumped...maybe so with your laptop.)
Operating system password require password recovery software. Some reset the password, others delete all passwords. look for ophcrack.
