Access to 5260 model

I want to access to the router 5260 to make congiguration i try by 192.168.7.1 and 10.0.0.1 not working. how to reset the router to be back a default and how to pass the passord if i forget it? thanks

    I bought a second hand speedstream 5260 and I can't get to menu by www or telnet. Probably modem was blocked by previous Internet provider. How do I reset to default setting?

    I use the speed stream 5260 on my desktop. I recently purchased a wireless laptop and the linksys wireless router. Problem I can't use both at the same time. I connect to the internet from the modem on my desktop and try on my laptop and it won't connect. When im on the laptop and try to connect on the desktop it says line busy! Does any have any suggestions or HELP! Thanks!

Hi, ya may wanna try 10.1.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 as these are two alternate Ahem "Default" settings. I also found this linkhttp://www.dslreports.com/faq/efficient That may help ya sort ya problems out.

Reset Instructions
CAUTION - this will reset ALL ROUTER SETTINGS. In other words, you will lose the configuration information and will need to reconfigure all of your settings. .
  1. Leave the router on and connected/wired
  2. Turn it over and find the recessed reset button on the bottom.
  3. Press and hold the button until the power light flashes red/green.
  4. Release the button.
  5. Now go through the setup instructions found in the manual.

Wireless facility does not work LED does not illuminate. I have tried to get access to web site

The connection to your modem could be faulty.
Ring your ISP and get them to test the connection to your ADSL modem.
Also do you have ADSL line filters on all your phones?
The phone connection to the ADSL modem does NOT use a ADSL filter.

No network access to Internet due to modem password change by ATT

So you are saying you cannot login to the router itself due to a changed password. The default login is admin and password (or 1234).

If none of these work then you will have to reset the router back to the factory defaults. There is a reset button on the back of the router. Find a paper clip and press the button for approx 10 seconds or until the test light on the front starts blinking. If all goes well the default login should now work. Remember, anything set before as far as static IP's, Ports, Security will be cleared out.

Adapter/router connected. Still unable to access internet

linksys has an excellent website setup utility.

go to www.linksys.com and click on support.... select the appropriate choice and it will walk you thru it setting up your devices automatically

there is a problem with yur dsl connection check for physical setup between the modem and the telephone wall jack
if the problem exists contact your isp

if u r not too sure abt the physical setup pls contact your isp providers and they will help you to run through the steps

• A DSL-ready telephone line installed at the desired installation site

Belkin Router - Network works for 5 minutes than everything loses internet capability.

hi,

           This issue usally occurs when the router is able to save the data stored or in  other words the Router id not able to AUTHENTICATE,  but as you already got a new router and you have already done the fireware upgradation of the router. we can also upgrade the firmware of your speedstream modem.

 

plz do these following steps ,( plz disconect the router from the computer and modem completly while doing the steps )

 

 

 

The Efficient 5260 modems that can be upgraded are as follows:

Look on the label on the bottom of your modem. It should read:

SpeedStream 5260 Ethernet ADSL Modem
Part Number: 060-5660-00x (where x=any number)
Revision: any (all revisions seem to work)

If your part number reads anything else, your modem is most likely not upgradable.

For those curious, 5660 models 003 and earlier do NOT support G.Lite ADSL, only DMT. If you are buying a 5260 or 5660 model secondhand, and your DSL ISP uses G.Lite DSL, it would be a good idea to check with the person selling you the DSL modem.

UPDATE: As of 5660 Firmware v2.3.0(2) and later all 5660 including 5260/5660 hybrids support G.Lite ADSL. It pays to use the latest Firmware.

Not working ,just red light

If you have all red lights, this indicates a problem with the router. Please contact your ISP to make sure that your internet connection is working correctly. Did you receive this router from your ISP or did you purchase it directly? Has it worked in the past and just suddenly stopped working? Please provide more details for me to provide you with further options.
