Pine shavings can cause cancer and other problems in rabbits. Stay away! The best litter that is safe and odor absorbing is a pellet-type, such as yesterday's news (found in the cat department) or wood pellets (sold in hardware stores or Agway).

Does anyone have any ideas why my guinea pig died? She was pregnant and seemed healthy but went past her due date without giving birth.?

How old was she? Going past her due date by a week may not have been the cause (I had a female that delivered two weeks late!), but without a veterinarian doing a post-mortem exam, there's really no way to know. Guinea pigs are very good at hiding health problems until they are critical, so there's a possibility she could have developed ketosis without showing it.

Is human shampoo safe for guinea pigs?

It's better to use shampoos which are designed specifically for guinea pigs. After all, human shampoos differ and differ significantly and that's why it's quite hard to give a versatile answer. The same goes for food. It's better to use well-designed feed. Yeap, some products like bananas can be given to your guinea pigs but there are some aspects you should pay your attention to.

I fed my guinea pig a piece of grilled onion without knowing they cant eat it and i was just wondering can he die?

if he is still alive he has survived
go google and type in-- suitable food for guinea pigs and next search -- foods that are toxic to guinea pigs
the findings will shock you in that what you have been feeding may be responsible for gastric upsets, mood changes , lack of energy

What is the best type of substrate for my boa?

Some of the best types of substrates for a boa are paper towel, newspaper, pine shavings, wood chips and bark mulch. I would avoid using cedar shavings though as they can cause skin blisters.

Guinea pig bedding has blocked the sweeper hole

The base of the vacuum needs to come apart. You will need the service manual if this is not a common task for you. It may be possible to reach the vacuum hole if the roller is removed.
