I got the LG Chocolate cell phone. Today I bought a "PNY TECHNOLOGIES 1 GB MICRO S D/ C E ADAPTER" I is supposed to allow me to put music on the chip from my computer and to my cell, But theres no instructions.....PLEASE HELP i need music for work :(
I have an LG KG290 mobile phone with Mp3 player. The phone did not come with a USB cable and i can not find where to get one . LG themselves have been no help.
I therefore bought a microsd card and reader. I formatted the card with the mobile phone. I then put the card in the reader and plugged it into the usb of my PC running windows XP. The computer showed it looking for plug and play but did not find it.
I clicked on drive E, the reader appeared to be working, after a long while the message "The disk in drive E is not formatted do you want to format it now" came up.
I had formatted it inside the phone but anyhow attempted to format the disk with the pc, choosing FAT and not FAT32 as advised in the phones manual. The card appeared to start formatting but then the message "windows was unable to complete the format " came up
I have tried using another card reader and another PC but still the same problem.
Grateful for any advice please..I have a similar problem.

Even eaiser and less expensive, then buying a Music Essentials Kit would be to buy a memory card reader and transfere the music as you would with any mp3 player, or similar device.
you have to buy the music kit, then transfer the songs from your computer onto your phone with that, and then you can move them to your memory cardyou have to buy the music kit, then transfer the songs from your computer onto your phone with that, and then you can move them to your memory card

You could reset computer and click the card in and out of the slot a couple times. Do you have the card in an adapter? You might have the smaller card placed wrong in the adapter.
There is a small "lock" on the memory card that can slide from one side to another. Take out your card push the lock to the other end and then try accessing your music again.
Most PCs are like that. I don't know what it is but the computer won't do it for mine neither. To put music and such on you sd card for your phone you must format the card while it's in your phone. Goto setting, Memory, Card memory, then click on opions. From there it will say "Format Card". Do it and the lock code is the last four digits or your phone number. After that's done to load music and such you put the sd chip onto you computer and transfer music to the folder on the sd card called "My_music", pix to "My_pix", and so on....
your memory card needs to be formatted, in settings --> memory --> format card. then you need to put the card into the computer, and put in the songs in the my_music folder
Insert the micro sd card with the metal plates facing you (that took me a second). Don't worry about the little push you have to give.
Go to the Settings & Tools option in the Menu.
Select *. Memory
Selct 3. Card Memory
Select Options while the bar is on "1. Memory Usage". The only option available to me was 1. Format and select that.
It will ask for the phone lock code-if you have never set it IT IS THE LAST 4 DIGITS OF YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER.
The phone will format the card and put the file folders on it.
Use the adaptor USB reader or whatever you have to connect it to the computer. Copy songs to the my_music folder.
for mp3 as ringtones:
You should select the part of the song you like, and can add effects with this:http://www.mptrim.com/
To set it as a ringtone, send it as an attachments to you areacodeandyourphonenumbe[email protected]. It must be small to go through, around 30 seconds.
You will get a text message, and select options. Select Save As Ringtone.
