Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console

Disk Reads Error problem and/or disk freezing

When I play MLB 2007: The Show, the game acts weird when a batter is walked. The pitcher appears on screen and the screen pans around him, until the game freezes. The disk works perfectly in other playstations. Now the playstation says disk reads error on DVDs. Can anyone help?

Hello, first step should be to clean the optical pick up unit. There is a special CD for cleaning of the optical unit (wet method). If this does not provide a solution please come back and advice. Best regards, Arpi

does not sound good. do any other disk have that problem? if so its your system and i recommend calling sony for custumer support, if not you may have a fualty disk due to perhaps incorrect area codes within the disk

My ps2 reads disks but it doesnt read good. cutscenes are always freezing and the game acts weird and freezes after 30 mins or more.i opened the top put a disk in and pressed the 2 buttons while it was on...

well mabey it may need dusted or mabey the copper strip is ripped or damaged or it could be the laser stuffed or it could be your disk isnt the correct format or the disks damage. If the back of the disk is purple it may mean it aint the right format. Just a few possibilities mate ;)

My console is really messed up it either doesn't read the game,or it reads the game and it has and error loading. But every once in a while the game works but it freezes while im playing.

Sounds like either a scratched disk or a broken lens. If the disk is scratched you need to purchase a new copy. If its not, then call Sony and you can send it in for a repair

MLB 07 Will not load.

That is because you like many people received a faulty blu-ray

laser . Call Sony support ASAP and they will repair or replace it for free if it is under warranty. If it is out of warranty, there may be a local tech that can repair it. Don't get scammed though. Make sure they have their own repair shop and/or a great reputation before you let them work on it.

Why does My Xbox 360 Freeze when i play MLB 2K9

If it only freezes on that game, chances are it's the disk that's causing the problems. I've experienced that some xbox games act up if only the slightest scratch is on the disk. If there is, either take it back or pay a few bucks for Best Buy or some video rental place to repair it for ya.

Everytime I put in a disk/ game into my ps2 an error appears saying that the disk cannot be read and the game will not play.

try changing the settings so that the disc reads fast and smooth

Game Freezes

It seems that your system is having trouble writing data to the HDD. Have you tried switching hard drives with your brother? It can be a corrupt sector or the entire disk. Try to format the disk and try again or switch your hard drive with your brother's or if you have the cash, buy a new hard drive for your ps3. Regards. Hope it helps.

PS: If you try using your brother's hard drive in your PS3 you will have to format it so I suggest you do a backup.
