My akai lct2785ta will not turn on at all.
Unplug it for about an hour to let it reset itself first, if still the same then check the power supply first.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on:

If the ac cord is fully functional and theres ac voltage supply from the wall outlet the power board needs troubleshooting and servicing, if its under warranty take it back...

Won't power on from stand-by even after you unplug and plug back in. Stays in stand-by mode with red light only.

Akai LCT2785TA troubleshooting
Open the back of the TV,and look at the can shaped items called capacitors on the circuit boards.If any of them have the tops,or bottoms bulged out,they need to be replaced.This should get it working again.I hope this helps.If you have any questions,please let me know.Thank You very much!

Akai LCT2785TA Capacitors blown out
Symptoms of a Defective or dying Power supplies on LCD TVs.
1. Light(s) on the front panel are behaving not normal example, blinking, amber color or
not steady, fainting, etc.
2. TV not turning ON properly.
3. TV turns OFF by itself.
4. Needs to be unplug to many times to make it work.
5. Humming or high pitch noise heard through speakers or at the back of the TV.

I repair these power supplies. Write to [email protected] if you require further assistance.

FixYa database totally screwed up!
Oddly, entering only the model number - LCT2785TA - brought up only pertainent messages although I see it often that some folks manage to enter car problems under washing machines for example so it isn't only the Fixya search facilities that are screwed up, sometimes it is an entry error.
Now, I'll see if I can find your original problem message since you didn't bother to keep it connected to your complaint.
