The Brush is pressed into a small holder on each side of the vacuum case. You must pull the brush forward (out) from the holders and on the brushes side is a spindle where the rubber belt wraps around. Remove the old belt, clean off all debris and put the one end of the new belt on the spindle end of the vacuum motor and the other on the brush end. Push brush roller back in place and you are good to go.
Bush is not turning and belt has snapped. Order replacement on Amazon. Loosen retainer screws on back of shell.. open remove belt and align and replace belt on bush bar and motor spindle. Done.
try turning the roller by hand UNPLUG VACUUM FIRST it should turn very easy, otherwise it is binding all uprights have this problem eventually hair and fibers get in roller bushing and seize luckily disassembling is relatively easy, same procedure as replacing the small belt that drives the roller. Take the extra step and take out the roller slip off bushings and clean everything have fun alex
I've posted the steps below, but I am also going to give you a link to the manual, as it includes pictures that might be helpful. Look for page 4.

1) Use handle release to lower handle flat onto floor (Fig. 1). 2) Remove 4 screws from brush roll cover. (Fig. 2). 3) Lift off brush roll cover. (Fig. 3). 4) Remove brush roll and belt. Thread new belt around motor shaft and brush roll (Fig. 4). 5) Insert left end of brush roll first. Make sure end cap fits into base. Pull right side of brush roll to stretch belt and insert right end cap into base (Fig. 5). Make sure it slides into position. 6) Rotate brush roll 2 turns to center belt. 7) Replace brush roll cover (Fig. 3). 8) Replace 4 screws (Fig. 6).
Remove any fibers (hair, carpet thread, etc.) or other trash wound up around the brush bushings. If necessary, disassemble and clean the bushings. This alone may not repair the problem, it is only the cause. After that, check the belt for bad spots - a stalled brush often causes the belt to wear heavily in one spot or break. Replace as needed.
After you receive the parts, here's a link to the manual that will walk you through, step by step on how to replace both items if you have any questions, or need help: Shark Infinity Bagless Upright Owners Manual

Always make sure your machine is unplugged from the outlet before replacing the belt.
Newer Oreck uprights have an access plate on the right hand side of the base (as you're looking at it from the front). Remove the one screw from the access plate and slide it forward. Snake the new belt around the brush roll pulley and then strrrrrrretch it back to the motor shaft. Replace the access plate.
If your model does not have an access plate; turn the machine upside down, Remove all screws. Lift the bottom plate off. Observe the position of the brush roll ends, One side of each end cap will have several notches cut into it,this is the 'new' side, the other side is smooth, this is the 'old' side. You can reposition the brush roll the the 'old' side if your bristles appear worn down.
With the brush roll still removed; place one end of the belt over the motor shaft first, place the other side of the belt around the brush roll pulley and stretch the brush roll forward until it is back in place.
Spin the brush roll by hand before replacing the cover to ensure the belt is not pinched.
Replace to cover.
Hello, DO NOT TRY TO TURN THE KIRBY ON ANYMORE BEFORE YOU GET THIS REPAIRED!!! Your Kirby needs carbon brushes and if you don't already need a new armature, the worn out brushes will destroy the armature that you have. Here is a guide that will help you get down to the carbon brushes to change them...
