Setting the time and date.

To change the date on a 2006 Buick Rainier, you will need to follow these steps:

1. Press the "Time" button on the radio to enter the clock setting mode.
2. Use the "Hour" and "Minute" buttons to set the current time.
3. Press the "Month" button to enter the calendar setting mode.
4. Use the "Month," "Day," and "Year" buttons to set the current date.
5. Press the "Time" button again to exit the clock setting mode and save the new date and time.

If you are unable to change the date using these steps, it is possible that your vehicle may have a different system for setting the clock. In that case, you may need to consult the owner's manual or contact a Buick dealer for further assistance.

Setting the Time (Without Date Display) If your vehicle has an AM/FM base radio with a single CD player and preset buttons numbered one through six, the radio will have a clock button for setting the time. You can set the time by following these steps: 1. Press the clock button until the hour numbers begin flashing on the display. Press the clock button a second time and the minute numbers will begin flashing on the display. 2. While either the hour or the minute numbers are flashing, turn the tune knob, located on the upper right side of the radio, clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease the time. Instead of using the tune knob, you can also press the SEEK, FWD (forward), or REV (reverse) buttons to adjust the time. 3. Press the clock button again until the clock display stops flashing to set the currently displayed time; otherwise, the flashing will stop after five seconds and the current time displayed will be automatically set. To change the time default setting from 12 hour to 24 hour, press the clock button and then the pushbutton located under the forward arrow label. Once the time 12H and 24H are displayed, press the pushbutton located under the desired option to select the default. Press the clock button again to apply the selected default, or let the screen time out. Dual alarm settings are on page 8, and I've included the specific instructions below. I would think that the '5' setting would be for Mon. - Fri., but let me know if that's not correct. Hope this helps!

"After setting the radio alarm wake time and sound, you will need to select the 7-5-2 setting. The 7-5-2 setting lets you set the alarm for a full week (7), weekdays only (5), or the weekend (2). Before setting the alarm, be sure that the correct date is set, as shown in the "Auto-Set" and Manual Time and Date Settings section of the manual. While the display is still flashing, press the Date/7-5-2 Button until the desired setting is shown."

Has the radio scanner been programmed with frequencies?

If not, that is the answer to your query.

All radio scanners need input to function as they should, no input, FREQUENCIES, no go.

If you have the user manual handy, it will guide you through the steps required to program frequencies into your scanner.

If you don't have the manual, then going to your local Radioshack store would be of benefit to obtain a copy.

You will also need a hard copy of frequency listings for your location.

these can be found by a simple google search.

Time and date setting
are only necessary if automatic setting by radio broadcast is unsuccessful.
To set time, date, and options:
1) With time and day showing, press and hold SET.
2) City code flashes. Press START/STOP to select city that represents your time zone. See table below
for city codes.
3) Press MODE. DST (daylight savings time) setting flashes. Press START/STOP to select AUTO (obey
setting in radio signal), ON, or OFF (disregarding setting in radio signal for ON/OFF).
4) Press MODE. Hour flashes. Press START/STOP to change hour (including AM/PM); hold button to
scan values
5) Press MODE. Minutes flash. Press START/STOP to change minutes
6) Press MODE. Seconds flash. Press START/STOP to set seconds to zero.
7) Press MODE. Year flashes. Press START/STOP to change year.

2. While the display flashes, press the 1 Reverse and 6 Forward Buttons to set the time. Hold a button for a few

4. After setting the radio alarm wake time and sound, you will need to select the 7-5-2 setting. The 7-5-2 setting
