We have had our Sony for 3 or 4 years and not needed a new bulb yet. Now at start up the entire picture is red for a few minutes. There is no other colour except red but you can see the images and everything. The tech at the store we bought it from didn't think it would be the bulb. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the solution. It appears to be our satellite receiver in the end. We didn't think to check the DVD etc, and it only does it on satellite. That's another entire topic but if people are thinking of getting one of Star Choice's HD PVR receivers, I wouldn't recommend it. We have had nothing but trouble for 2 full years now and this is just another thing to add to the list. They keep saying they will come up with a software fix, but to date no improvements and just more problems all the time. It is common to all HD PVR receivers from them. Thanks for the solution. Could be a cooling fan. Sometimes they don't start because of dust buildup. Could be worn out also. I had to replace mine once. Can order via internet.
my picture goes red shades and this means new bulb needed sorry, but sounds like the same issue..... new bulb I get hitachi with 3 year bulb warranty now for our school - cheaper in long run
hello.+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then
displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply
circuit, check T603 and R672.
New bulb is just fine. 3 blink shows that lamp cover after replacement of bulb in TV is not fixed properly or not seated well in its position. Put new bulb and carefully place back lamp cover in its position because lamp cover will press tinny safety switch inside that will send signal to system control of TV that lamp is installed properly. Turn On TV and get vivid picture of Sony. Thanks.
I get 5 blinking red lights for about a minute or so before it powers back down. The Sony TV has a specific light that i presume is supposed to light up when the bulb is out. I'm unsure if this is what it is. no picture, no sound. tries to boot with green light blinking a few times. then goes to red blinking light, six in all, then waits a few moments, then another 6 blinking red light.
Bulb was already replaced several months ago but we do have the TV on for long periods of time.
