I've installed the 1.8 and 2.0 firmwares several times in my RCA TH1101A and i still get the same message that the drive is corrupted or unreadable. I got this message initially when I bought the item and returned it. I don't want to go to Wal-Mart again for returning of this item, I don't even have a receipt anymore.

Music file is a audio/mpeg size 7404968 edit.mp3 unable to open it.

These files may have been affected and corrupted by either virus or something else and have you try to open it with your window media player? if it doesn't open then the files are bad. But if they are corrupted, there is nothing you can do to open it unless you delete them.

4th generation MP3/MP4 player has corrupted files that can not be deleted. Files from computer seem to have been corrupted as well and can not be copied back to MP3 player... not even from a totally...

Run the scandisk on your computre and also on MP3 Player. Try formatting the MP3 Player and copy the files. Another possibility is the infection of virus.

Where does a deleted file go? any chance for recovery?

You are going to have to start again, first connect the unit to your computer copy anything you want to save piccys movies and stuff but not the corrupted music files, Format the drive, then goto http://www.nodevice.com/driver/_PVR-H140/get33981.html download the driver files and re-install to the PVR, then copy all your mp3 files back.........

Help to recover or repair a corrupted file on my daughter's sansa mp3 player

If the file is corrupted then there is no way for you to play nor listen to it. If the player is saying the file is corrupted and to test if the file is really corrupted please try to do this steps. Connect the player to the computer. Open My Comptuer window and open the player locate the file and try to copy that file to your desktop and play that file. If the file copied and played successfully then that good. If not the only way to prevent this is to format the player. Change the player to MSC mode then connect to the computer and open my computer and right-click on the player and choose format remove the check on the quick format and click start to format the player. Formatting the player will delete all the files and data on the device and it will fix any bad sectors that would cause file corruption on the player.
