The shoulder straps on my volo stroller is to loose for my child and I am having problems adjusting them to fit my child. Can you help me?.
What year is your Volo. Different years adjust differently. The newer ones have 3 height adjustment slots and a slider that adjusts the strap itself. They do not adjust way down though and even with teh straps as tight as they will go, they are still a little loose on my 15 month old granddaughter. I have found that buy tightening the waist straps it does keep her a little more secure.
JP,
i have found that the Volo's are wonderful once your child get's a little older. I used a Volo with my two youngest son's from about age 2. My 6 year old still rides in one occasionally and even with his size and weight (he is 40 lbs) it still pushes like a dream. I do love Maclarens and I found that the Quest, Triumph and Techno were more suited for smaller children though the strap adjustments seem to be a common problem on most Macs. There are several other lightweight, small fold options out there though without resorting to the disposable umbrella strollers found at most big box stores. Silver Cross has one called the Micro and another called the Mini. They are both very nice, only slightly heavier than the Volo, both fold down small and they both come with nice seat pads. You can try looking on your local craigslist for a great deal or watch www.schnoop.com. Itis a deal-a-day site that has been offering wonderful strollers at deep discounts. I have the same issue and cannot seem to find any help in the manual that came with the product. With the number of "A" and "A+/5 star" ratings given to this stroller all over the internet, I have to imagine that I'm missing something and that the straps are, indeed, adjustable ... any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, StrollerMama. I got the Volo in April 2008 for my baby shower so I'm guessing it is a 2008 model. It does have the 3 height adjustment slots and the slider that you mention, but the shoulder straps are no where near being tight enough on my (almost) 10-month-old. On the other hand, the slider that goes across her waist is very tight, almost too much so. My daughter really doesn't like sitting in the stroller at all, and I cannot say I blame her. The way she's seated just seems awkward and uncomfortable. I do love that it's light-weight and easy to fold, though. Hopefully she'll grow into it, but I'm going to have to find something else to use in the meantime unless I figure out a way to make the shoulder straps tighter.
