Starting from your device, to the net, different things can go wrong.
Too many processes running on your device, can block smooth running of streams. A not optimal wireless connection can do the same. Connection can be corrupted, by other users (devices) on the same router of other wireless routers close to you.
But even with a good connection to the net, it could be your provider is throttling the bandwidth, as soon as you start streaming video content.
So lots of things to check to find what is wrong.
Fixing something is only possible when you know the exact cause of the problem.
All you can do is check it for trojans get a free copy of spynomore and see what it finds If it's not trojans then the hard-drive may not have any space left on it... it needs 10% to breathe. It uses the 10% as cache. If that isn't the issue then try doing a hard drive diagnostic. You may have dropped the notebook one time and the hard drive could be close to failing.
The first thing you should try is use another web browser then try browsing facebook again. If your computer will restart again then the problem is not within facebook but its your computer. Make sure to download anti virus or anti trojan. You can visit download.com incase you dont have any antivirus installed on your pc.
There are many issues that could slow a system down including programs and processes that start when Windows starts that are hidden in the background..Lets start with the easiest first... Go to WWW.IOBIT.COM > Downloads and download/install and run ADVANCED SYSYEM CARE Free edition.. It will clean optimize and speed up your pc. Then under UTILITIES (in ASC) there is a "start-up manager" where you can stop programs from starting at boot-up
Is the laptop generally slow or only the net browsing is slower? McAfee and Spybot tend to slow down the system.
Try other AV programs., Avira is best, very light on the system and high virus detection rates.
Hope this solves your problem. Thanks.
Good morning. Quite a number of things can cause your computer to run slow. Usually, it's due to the data on your disk being too fragmented or due to a virus or spyware problem. Also, if you have your hard drive too full (80%) or more, it can really slow things down. Do a disk cleanup, then a defrag and see if that helps. If not, go out on the net and download some of the free antivirus programs and run them. They seem to run as good, or better, than most of the paid packages that I've seen. AVG is good as is SpyBot and AdAware. I run all three on a regular basis and have few virus/spyware problems. If those things don't take care of the problem, get back to us for some more ideas. Best of luck and Have a good day! Ron
