Ice Dispenser Doesn't work...

I have model#: GS6NBEXRL00 Whirlpool Side-Side Refrigerator. The ice dispenser does not work. It chirps so it is trying to no avail. The ice in the inside bucket is freezing together. We've noticed water in the tray under the ice dispenser...I don't think this is from water being dispensed for drinks. The water dispenser in the door works fine. I have removed the ice bucket inside the freezer and noticed that ice has formed on the underneath side of the bucket. I have cleaned it out with hot water and then dried it out thoroughly. The ice dispenser then works sporadically until it works not at all again. Any help/suggestions?

I would think this is the dispenser motor, or some bad connection

Not in this case...but always check to see if you have a child lock-out buttons on front display. Often forgotten, this would turn off both ice and water.

My Whirlpool Gold side-by-side refrigerator GS6NVEXSL00 wont give me the ice out the door. It makes ice, but when I press the button on the door nothing happens. Seems like the button went out. HELP!

Does the water dispenser work? Is there a light at the dispenser panel, does it light? Do you hear any noises or motors running when you actuate ice dispenser? You could have a power issue for the dispenser. Some newer whirlpool models have an issue with the wiring leading into the door at bottom being so securley fastened to frame, the lack of movement forces the wires to bend, and in time break, with door usage. If water dispenser works, and you hear no sounds when the ice lever is actuated, then you have a problem with the dispenser panel circuit board. if water works and you hear some sounds when ice lever is actuated, such as a loud popping noise, then you have a bad ice dispenser auger motor, not churning the ice out of the bucket.

Whirlpool side by side model # ed25uexhw00

Open the door and hold the door switch down and try the ice dispenser. Do you hear any thing. Take all the ice out of the bin and try. Anything? Take the bin out and try. Anything? The motor is behind the back cover where the bin sits. See if you get power to it using a voltmeter. If your are, probably bad motor. If not dispenser switch.

Ice Will not dispense

Check that the dispenser is not locked. Some models have a lock feature that deactivates the dispenser levers and control buttons. The lock button is on the dispenser front cover. This feature controls unintentional dispensing during cleaning. Press the "Unlock" or "Locked" button to reactivate the dispenser levers and allow dispenser function. You may need to hold the button for 2 to 3 seconds.          http://whirlpool.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/whirlpool.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=110&p_created=1147725595&p_sid=lTIkCMOi&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MzEmcF9wcm9kcz0xOTkmcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PTEuMTk5JnBfY3Y9JnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9d2F0ZXIgZGlzcGVuc29y&p_li=&p_topview=1
