No power going into my archos 604

THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ANY POWER GOING INTO MY ARCHOS 604 I THROUGH IT WAS THE LEAD SO I BOUGHT ANOTHER BUT TO NO AVAIL. CAN ANYONE PUT ME IN TOUCH WITH SOMEBODY TO HAVE A LOOK AT IT OR REPAIR IT. I THINK MY SON MY HAVE DROPPED IT!!!

If the unit was dropped, you may have to replace the battery. The batteries for those units are lithium-ion-polymer and are somewhat fragile when dropped. The other possible reason it is not working is that the shock form the drop has "bricked" or killed your unit's internal circuitry. I would also try charging it with another USB connection as the USB connection you are using may not be powerful enough to charge the unit. Can I charge archos 604 batteries using dvr station and power outlet?

yes you can, however the battery must be inserted into the 604. Simply dock the 604, ensure the dvr is turned on and the 604 will automatically turn on and start charging.

Record xbox to archos 604

The dvr station must sit in the middle of the signal transfer from the box to the tv, so connect the Xbox to the dvr station and then connect the dvr station to the tv. You will have to enaure that the DVR station is always powered on so that the signal will pass through it. to record simply select the record option on the 604

Archos 604(Gen 4), Remote(Archos DVR Station Gen 5) Work or not?

If you mean will the Gen 5 DVR Station Remote work with a Gen 4 DVR Station, I believe it will for at least the basic player controls on your 604 (except for the alpha keyoard entry because the Gen 4 players did not have this feature enabled).

If you mean, will the Gen 5 DVR Station Remote control your Archos 604 directly (without a dvr dock), the answer is no, you must have a DVR Station for the remote to work on any Archos player.

Use Windows media center as a go between if you have the capability. I would not expect that much functionality from the Archos. The extra step will save time in the long run. There is a usb port on the DVR station. Haven't really tried to utilize it, yet. It does recognize a thumb drive when plugged in. I just wouldn't expect you will get the same ease of operation as using media ctr.

- Using the reset button located under the battery?

- Holding down the LCD button as you press POWER to start up the unit and trying one of the recovery options?

Archos Recovery (code 2)

Send them back to Archos if they are still under warranty. If not, you're out of luck because they'll charge you about US$140 to repair the hard drive + postage.

Archos 604 (not WiFi) connection to TV without the DVR station

HI, bought the following off ebay and they worked just fine. I to thought that the socket on the right side was audio only. Can't get a picture via my DVR (may be a fault) however this item works great.

Are you sure the battery is charged? If so, try detach and retach the battery. Also try to attach to your computer via the usb cable and the 604 should turn on by itself, if nothing happens you need to send back to Archos for repair.

Archos 604 not recognizing DVR Station

Check the power pack for the DVR station and see if theres a green light still lit. I've had two power packs for the DVR station fail. This will cause the syptoms your seeing.
