Question about HP PSC 1410 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

What paper jam?

My printer always says that there is a paper jam. I check the back and I see no paper. On the status menu, it always says to check paper. I tried 1. unplugging my printer and plugging it back 2. leaving it unplugged for a week 3. uninstalling and reinstalling the printer 4. check the paper for wrinkles or dusting 5. check to see if anything may have gotten into the printer while I was printing 6. pushing the paper near the rollers to see if it would come out 7. pressing the resume button to say that I have cleared the paper jam In part 6, I have pressed the resume button and the paper will just roll out. When I tried to make a copy, nothing happens, and printing, it says there's a paper jam. In part 2, I plugged it up and was able to make one copy before it started talking about a paper jam. Could it be that the printer is broken, defected, or is there a way to fix it? My printer looks similar to the HP PCS 1410. It is a 1209.

Does the printer even try to pick a piece of paper from the supply tray? If not, then it would appear that a sensor somewhere in the paper path is bad, either mechanically or electronically. Often, these sensors have a lever which touches the paper. If by chance the lever is broken or stuck it won't give a correct message to the logic circuit. If by chance the sensor is electronically defective, it would still give a bad message to the logic, and it would need to be replaced. Logic circuitry could be bad, in which case, replace the printer. With the lowcost printer/all-in-one units these days, it seems fixya has a continual flow of inquiries. Maybe this will give you some help.

Printer keeps saying i got a jammed paper there is no jammed paper

There are many places in a printer where a small piece of paper can get stuck. It's not always a sheet of paper. Open all the access panels and check the roller track for pieces of paper. If it is clear, unplug the printer for a few seconds and the plug it back in. This should clear the problem if it was in error. Also check the paper feed for too many sheets stuck together jamming the feed. Before loading paper always "fan" the paper first to avoid sheets being stuck together.

Paper or specialty media misfeeds
These are possible solutions if paper or specialty media misfeeds or skews, or if multiple sheets feed or stick together.
Try one or more of the following:
Check paper condition

  • Use only new, unwrinkled paper.

Check paper loading

  • Load a smaller amount of paper into the printer.

  • Load paper with the print side facing you. (If you are not sure which side is the printable side, see the instructions that came with the paper.)

Remove each page as it is printed

  • Remove each page as it exits, and let it dry completely before stacking.

Adjust the paper guides

  • When using media less than 8.5 inches wide

  • To rest against the edges of the paper or media, making sure it does not buckle

HOW DO I REMOVE JAMMED PAPER

Please turn the printer Off and then ON , till you see the error message of " Paper Jam" check all the flags on paper path, specially on Fuser Assembly.
.
Turn printer OFF, pull all trays out gently,
Disconnect cables to network or PC. turn printer ON,
check the message gets repeated - paper Jam,

Conclusion : There is some bit and piece of paper activating flags,
take all toners out gently and transfer Drum, look into printer, and
lift the paper path under the toners, push the door a little bit and unscrew the paper path and can see a piece of paper on right side..
Pull the paper out and screw bach. put every thing back in their original status.

Now the printer will work and there will not be any papers..

Error light and no printing

What does the status monitor message say? The red light is the most general error. It's bit like taking a 747 back to Boeing and saying there is something wrong with it.

If you do not have the status monitor installed, download it from Konica Minolta and run it. Once the status monitor is running it will read the error from the printer.
