Windows XP fix: go to CONTROL PANEL... double click on POWER OPTIONS and set the option "Turn off monitor" to NEVER if you want it to stay on.

  • Anonymous Mar 16, 2009

Hi! Normally monitors don't enter power saver mode if the user is continuously moving the mouse... or, the monitor itself has this "power saving" feature. Try entering the On Screen Display by pressing Menu on the monitor. Navigate to the part that says "power saver" and disable it. If you can't find any, then i suggest that you try a different monitor. If the problem persists, then there must be something wrong with the monitor forcefully entering power saving mode.

Let me know if this helps. I'll be glad to provide more options.

SOURCE: when i turn the computer on the monitor says it is

Sounds like your monitor is not getting any signal. The monitor is probably working fine its the video card or connection that is having the problem. Check all cables, then check to make sure video card is working. Does your computer POST without any problems when you turn it on? Do you have an onboard video port and a AGP/PCI-e/PCI video port? If so, is your video connected to the onboard or the AGP/PCI-e/PCI

SOURCE: my monitor is stuck in power saver mode

There is something electrically wrong in your monitor which an electrician can identify and fix. There is nothing to worry, some capacitor might've shorted out. It'll be fixed cheaply. Hope this works.

SOURCE: LG 1750s monitor goes into power saver mode in 5-10 min

change the setting in the screen saver option (Power)
or look in Power in control panel...also check the hybernation time

Testimonial: "Settings are not the problem. The problem is with monitor itself and it is not related to operating system."

I have a dell studio 540 desktop, I need to restore to factory settings but my monitor will not stay open. It opens for a few seconds then immediately goes into power saver mode and turns off, how can

I see two things here, but need clarification;

1) Monitor goes to Power Saver Mode, then turns -> OFF?

Sure that monitor didn't go into Standby Mode?

2) Why are you performing a restore back to factory settings?
Pick up a virus?

Primer;
The monitor receives a signal. A video signal. The video signal comes from the computer.

If the monitor is NOT receiving a video signal, then the monitor will state No Signal.
This is for older monitors.

New monitors do not state No Signal anymore.
It's Power Saver Mode, or Sleep Mode.

If the monitor is truly OFF, the Power On button will Not be lit up.
Or the Power On LED light on the monitor.

Monitor power on LED is lit, or Power On button is lit?

Monitor is not receiving a video signal;

Use a monitor cable from a KNOWN to be working monitor, for a temporary test.
OR,
Use a Known to be working monitor, and it's monitor cable.

Need to find out if monitor cable is good.

Monitor cable checks out good?

Then problem is computer.

The two leading issues with desktop computer failure, is;

1) Computer is dirty inside
2) Power Supply inside computer is bad.

Please post back in a Comment.

Why no video

a HP monitor. as old as 2006... (o0ps)
read the manual yet? on "power saver modes" turn off them?
i bet you dont know spec, on caps. it's not published by HP ever.
most are +80% - 20% for filters. (ever seen that?)
so a 100uf can read 180uF, or 80uf and is IN SPEC.
but no caps stated, by you, lots there are...
my guess you are
looking for the caps used in china long ago that all failed, every one.
first off you never fully stated whats wrong, in DETAILS.
first have good running pc , with live VGA output (using VGA are you)>? unstated...
the MON, will now live sync, now , Horz and vert, on both pins
the OSD screen now works, if not the monitor is bad.?
or see No/syn, no sig, out of range or no input errors.
Monitor Going to Sleep
see page 34? in your manual yet?
and page 31, turn of power saver ?
if OSD is dead, say so first.

OSD can be locked. push mon menu button for 10sec, now unlocked
then go to OSD screen

Power-Saver Feature
When the monitor is in normal operating mode, the Power li
ght is aqua-white or green (depending on model) and the
monitor uses the normal watts of power. For power us
age, refer to "Technical Specifications" (Appendix B).
The monitor also supports a power-saver mode that is
controlled by the computer. When the monitor is in the
reduced-power state, the monitor screen is
blank, the backlight is off, and the
Power light is amber. The monitor uses
minimum power. When the monitor is "awakened," a brief
warm-up period occurs before the monitor returns to
normal operating mode. The energy-saving reduced power stat
e activates if the monitor does not detect either the
horizontal sync signal or the vertical sync signal. The powe
r-saver feature must be activated on your computer for this
feature to work, << read that carefully?

turn this off ? first?
osd-vboix4tqi2kfzapulla5cn4x-5-0.jpg the early models of the monitor
had CCFL back lamps, and the 2 inverters are on the main power board. left side here

When my computer goes into sleep mode and the monitor goes off i have to keep turning the monitor on and off by the power button on the monitor to get it to come on. I hear a static sound and the screen...

Assuming you are using a windows operating system, go to the control panel under the start button. Find power settings and turn off hibernation mode. Sleep mode should be ok. Additionally, on the monitor, find the menu button that pulls up the OSD (on screen display) and see if there is a ECO mode or power saver mode and turn it off as well. Good Luck.

When turning the monitor on, I only receive a power saver mode

Does it do the same when it is hooked up to another PC?
Most common failures in 2~3 years old LCD monitors are due to bad caps in the power supply.

How to shut off monitor power saver

If you open the Menu on the Monitor, there should be a tab with the name along the lines of " Management "

You'll be able to find the Power Saver option in there, and you should be able to turn it off through that.

I hope that helped, and please don't forget to rate my answer :)

MY DELL SE198WFP GOES TO POWER SAVE MODE AFTER 2 SECONDS

I had this problem as well as a lot of other people. The solution is to go to the power options in the control panel and turn power saver off. This should keep the monitor from going into power saving mode.

ENERGY SAver is stuck on

I know it's an older post, but you still may be waiting an answer:
What is probably happening is Your power board is failing to maintain power enough to run the bulbs and the rest.
That is why it takes long to start up and why it goes into sleep mode.
Does the power button stay lit (getting signal) or turn to amber (sleep mode) or does it flash.
