Hi, my name is Shawna and I recently had problems with my Olympus E-300. I have only had the camera few months when it stopped storing the pictures to the memory card. The camera will take the pictures and when it is supposed to store it to the memory card, the screen goes black and has this message D : 3C85 and the red light will flash near the opening where the memory card goes. I have tried to restore factory setting, new flash cards, cleaning and just leaving it on to see if it would store to the disk. Instead the red light continues to flash rapidly and the message remains on the LCD screen. Please help!!!

The Olympus FE-230 requires you to use a xD M-Type memory card to store your pictures on. These are usually available fairly cheap at Wal-Mart or Best Buy. When you insert your new card into the camera, the message will go away and the screen will appear its normal brightness.
Although the XD picture memory card is one of the newest formats, it is still available at many department, office supply, and photo shops. Among these locations is WalMart (electronics dept.) and Staples Office Supply. If you prefer to shop online you should have no problems finding the card at Ebay, Amazon.com, and Tiger Direct.
Most likely the shutter "curtain" (a few pieces looking like sheet metal just behind the mirror, designed to protect the camera CCD from dust and damage due to too much light) is not opening. This will require servicing by Olympus, since you will have to take the camera apart to be able to reach this camera part. Unfortunately, this may be a pretty expensive repair.
Hi,
I've seen a few problems now with corrupted memory cards. I would go to a camera shop to try another card, and verify that this one is defective. Then you can shop around for a replacement.
I think damage is caused by handling, as those who leave cards in, seem to suffer less problems.
Hi Bonnie, don't know what problems you are having as you havent specified, but i do know that if you use a memory card higher than 512mb, it will appear as though it is not working! 512mb xd card is the highest you can use for this camera, you can also use a fuji memory card, hope this helps! Check the memory card! :)
try this free recovery programme, although your card may be corrupted and non recoverable, good luck!
