I have this camera for 2 weeks, used for work and then the screen is black with some white lines (difficult to see) I sent it to Sony for guarantee and they said I wet it, and main board is wet, but no other part is wet.
I'm sure that I did not wet it, but it is possible that only the main board is wet an no other part, if a liquid was in contact with camera? Any suggestion to said to Sony?
Thanks in advance for your help.

you turn off the LCD screen and use the viewfinder, same problem? Even
with this wrong, are you try to take pics and see this in your pc? They
are white or with some lines over image?
Two things there, first... could be a problem with the viewer screen, or, second choice could a problem CCD sensor go to bad; in both cases this isn't a job that you could solve yourself; this wrong include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines,
blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being
recorded on the camera's flash card.
I suggest check THIS LINK for additional details in this previous solutions for an Defective CCD
(Charge Coupled Device) and next contact your Olympus service. Istrongly suggest(taking intoconsiderationthe age of yourcamera) to evaluatethe cost ofrepairversusthe cost of anewcamerawith similarfeatures, before making afinaldesicion.
Keep in mind and check if even you are underwarranty, if yes, applied.
Sounds as if the camera would need to be sent to Olympus for service. You may want to call their Customer Service to discuss repair options and pricing. Their telephone number is 800-622-6372 option 2 and then option 3.
I have the same problem, and upon looking into my problem, i recall reading that Sony had used crappy glue in which they attached the CCD to the inner guts of the camera, and when that deteriorates, which doesn't take very long, then your pictures will have lines through them.
I think i remember reading that Sony said they will replace all cameras within 2 years of their manufacture. Call Sony's troubleshooting and support and they may replace it for you.
i have the same problem here. i sat down on my camera Doh! It need a new LCD screen, for sur, and i have a line whit a black/purple spot on the LCD. I open my camera and i separate the screen from the other part (white light) and i search instruction to continue the repairing, i can send photos of what it's look like, well im searching further instruction to replace the LCD screen.
I have Fuji FinePix 2650 Digital camera with same problem. I can almost guarantee this is not a firmware problem. I went mountain biking a few months ago and take pictures. I take out camera and turn on. I get lines then white screen. I banged on camera and fixed it. Later a few weeks ago I turn it on and white screen. i beat this thing and get bad menu selection screen for a moment then white again. It takes pictures well and talk to computer no problem but no LCD picture. I thinking it is loose connection for LCD. Send it for repair or if you seek adventure try to fix it yourself!
